UFC light heavyweight Carlos Ulberg will now take on Alonzo Menifield at UFC Atlantic City, as per the promotion. For the longest time now, Carlos Ulberg has been making a push to enter the top 15 of the light heavyweight division. He’s currently riding a five-fight win streak, with four of those wins coming via finish. His hard work set him up for a big clash with Dominick Reyes, which was set to take place on March 30 at UFC Atlantic City.

Jon Jones has praised former opponent Dominick Reyes for pushing him to the limit in their title bout at UFC 247. Earlier this year, Jon Jones returned to the Octagon after three years away and captured the UFC heavyweight championship. Prior to that, though, his last bout came in February 2020 when he defended his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes. It was a close, intense bout and in the eyes of many, Reyes did enough to secure the win and the belt.

Dominick Reyes has spoken out after suffering a scary knockout loss to Ryan Spann at UFC 281. Reyes and Spann collided inside Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 12. This one didn’t last as Spann landed a left jab that shut Reyes’ lights off in the opening frame. It is Reyes’ fourth loss in a row. He has now been knocked out or TKO’d in his last three outings.

Dominick Reyes makes his highly anticipated return to the Octagon at tonight’s UFC 281 event for a bout with Ryan Spann. Reyes (12-4 MMA) decided to take a lengthy hiatus from the sport following his brutal knockout loss to Jiri Prochazka in May of 2021. That setback had marked ‘The Devastator’s’ third in a row, as he was previously knocked out by Jan Blachowicz and outpointed by Jon Jones. Prior to that rough stretch, Dominick had gone a perfect 12-0 which included wins over Chris Weidman, Ovince Saint Preux and Volkan Oezdemir.

Despite lopsided odds heading into the contest, Reyes brought the fight to the then-light-heavyweight champion. Jones edged out a decision over Reyes in a fight that many thought the challenger should’ve won. Yet, the judges gave it to ‘Bones’ and since that fight, he has not fought and is bulking up for a heavyweight move. According to Reyes, there were talks of booking an immediate rematch but Jones backed out and instead wanted to go to heavyweight.

The fight against Prochazka, in particular, was a brutal war that left Reyes knocked out cold. It was a very difficult fight for Reyes and he has taken off the past four months since then. In fact, Reyes says that he wants to take even more time off in order to heal his brain from that fight. He recognizes how much damage he took and he wants to make sure he does his comeback right.

Dominick Reyes is hoping the UFC keeps Jon Jones after his latest arrest so he can fight him and beat him up again. After Jones was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame for his first fight against Alexander Gustafsson, he was arrested early Friday morning in Las Vegas. He was charged with battery, domestic violence, and injuring and tampering with a vehicle and after the news came public, many wondered if he would fight again. For his last opponent, Dominick Reyes he says he hopes “Bones” gets another fight so he can beat him up again.

Dominick Reyes has broken his silence on his loss to Jiri Prochazka. Back in May, Reyes suffered a brutal KO loss to Prochazka in one of the best fights of this year. Reyes entered this fight against Prochazka on the heels of back-to-back losses to Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz, so he badly needed to get a win and get back in the victory column. Unfortunately for Reyes, the fight did not go his way once again as Prochazka battered him all over the Octagon until eventually scoring the finish in the second round. It was another phenomenal performance by Prochazka, who looks to be a serious title contender at 205lbs, while for Reyes it was another tough loss that will drop him out of title contention.

Prochazka entered the fight after making good on his UFC debut as he KO’d Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 251. He was also the former RIZIN champ. Reyes, meanwhile, was coming off a TKO loss to Jan Blachowicz for the vacant belt and a decision loss to Jon Jones for the title.

Blachowicz (28-8) had of course captured the promotions vacant light heavyweight title by scoring a second round TKO victory over Reyes (12-3 MMA) at UFC 253. The Polish champion has since gone on to successfully defend his title on one occasion, scoring a dominant victory over the previously undefeated Israel Adesanya back in March.
