Justin Golightly - February 21, 2018

The UFC actually thought it was so risque that they put and edited version of it on their YouTube channel, but as all know what happened in regards to his comments about his plans for his wife April back home. Turns out though, his big game backfired and he hasn’t been able to well, ‘perform’ since his big finish at UFC Austin. He’s been too hurt, especially with his fourth metacarpal fracture. “Man, I’m still hurting right now. We still ain’t do nothing. My hand broken, look. My hand broke. Yeah [I broke it when I hit him with] the first punch. When I first dropped him. I hit his elbow too, so that’s what happened. I hit the tip of his elbow. I don’t got it in me [to make love], man. I’m hurting. I gotta put in a good performance, man. I can’t put in a half-assed performance and lay there like a starfish.” — Derrick Lewis speaking to TMZ Sports.

Derrick Lewis Wants $500K to Gas Out like Francis Ngannou
Justin Golightly - February 14, 2018
From steroid allegations to body shaming, Derrick Lewis has been all over Francis Ngannou after he came up short in his fight against Stipe Miocic. He was already criticizing the fighter, but this only intensified after Lewis found out Ngannou’s pay in the main event title fight at UC 220. If Lewis is able to beat Marcin Tybura on Sunday, it sounds like he’ll be looking for a title shot himself, even if it’s just to drink beer and gas out. “For sure, that’s all I really care about [is money]. Now that I’ve seen that – what’s his name, Francis [Ngannou]? – he got $500,000 just fighting for the belt. Let me fight for the belt next. They can give me $500,000. Sh-t, I’m going to gas out too. Guaranteed $500,000? You don’t have to worry about me training before a camp. I’ll be drinking a beer right after weigh-ins.”
Derrick Lewis Body Shames 'Too Much Muscle' Francis Ngannou
Justin Golightly - February 6, 2018
The Black Beast Derrick Lewis is set to return against Marcin Tybura at UFC Austin, but he’s still on a mission to flame Francis Ngannou and his muscles. Ngannou had his biggest test ever in his short career and came up short in an exhausting performance against Stipe Miocic. Even though he loss, he’s one of the very few heavyweights out of huge names not to be knocked out by the heavy-handed firefighter. It was a huge learning experience for the fighter, but Lewis claims history is bound to repeat itself unless Ngannou does something about his body. “I watched the highlights of the Francis [Ngannou] fight. I didn’t watch the fight cause I didn’t want to give Francis my money and pay for his pay-per-view. I seen the highlights and Stipe [Miocic] had him against the cage and Francis is on his knees and Stipe wasn’t putting that much pressure on him. All Francis had to do was stand straight up, and Francis couldn’t even stand straight up. I know I wouldn’t just let Stipe hold me down like that. I knew he wasn’t going to walk through Stipe. It was a five-round fight and Stipe is a good wrestler. I knew that’s what Stipe was going to go in there and do. Ngannou had too much muscle. He was going to gas out quick as hell.”

Tom Taylor - December 20, 2017
Derrick Lewis, the UFC’s sixth-ranked heavyweight, is currently scheduled for a stark test, as he’s expected to take on Marcin Tybura when the UFC touches down in Austin, Texas this February 18. While this fight is currently at the forefront of Lewis’ mind, he’s hoping a big win over Marcin Tybura will set him up for a heavyweight title shot, and more importantly, a battle with his rival Francis Ngannou, who battles Stipe Miocic for the title this January 20. Speaking to MMAJunkie earlier this week, Lewis gave his take on this upcoming heavyweight title fight, and shared his hope that Ngannou wins so he can fight him.

Justin Golightly - November 22, 2017
UFC 218 goes down in just two weeks and the co-headliner is a monster mash between Alistair Overeen and Francis Ngannou. For the longest time, Derrick Lewis looked to be on a collision course with Ngannou, but an injury forced him to pull out of his latest fight with Fabricio Werdum. When the cage door closes, Lewis is going to have his hands full, as Werdum is perhaps the greatest jiu-jitsu player in the history of heavyweight MMA. Fabricio Werdum 'Has to Pay' For Making Derrick Lewis Miss the McRib
Justin Golightly - October 3, 2017
Derrick Lewis has always had a love/hate relationship with training. His relationship with ribs on the other hand, has always been solid. The Black Beast has the biggest fight of his life coming up this weekend against dangerous heavyweight Fabricio Werdum. The perils aren’t lost on Lewis, who finally decided to change his diet leading up to the event. The results are speaking for themselves, but Werdum still has to deal with a dude who’s mad he missed the McDonald’s McRib. “I was still eating fried chicken, hamburgers, all of that fight week [against Mark Hunt]. The day of the fight, I’ve stayed eating the same way my whole career. Now I’m going to see how I feel however I get in there to see what the difference is to see what all the fuss is about. My mouth is watering right now thinking about some Carl’s Jr. I’m starving right now. You eat salad and you’re hungry the next 30 minutes and you’re hungrier from when you ate the damn salad. That’s what I don’t like about it. The damn McRib was in town. I had to miss the McRib and all the other things. My favorite restaurant had a special going on and I couldn’t even eat it. Somebody’s gotta pay.”
