Heading into this fight, some members of the MMA bubble have suggested that Lewis didn’t deserve a title shot. Lewis himself has admitted that he might not have been the most deserving contender.

With his stock as high as ever, the UFC has subsequently booked “The Black Beast” to challenge Daniel Cormier for the promotions heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden.

However it appears oddsmakers aren’t giving “The Black Beast” much of a chance. According to Bovada, Lewis opened as a +500 underdog (bet $100 to win $500) against Cormier who came in as a massive -800 betting favorite (bet $800 to win $100).
