Pros react after Dan Ige KO’s Andre Fili at UFC Vegas 86

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 86 was co-headlined by a highly anticipated featherweight bout between Dan Ige and Andre Fili.

Ige (18-7 MMA) was returning to action for the first time since suffering a decision loss to Bryce Mitchell back in September of last year. Prior to that setback, ’50k’ was coming off a decision win over Nate Landwehr and a knockout victory over Damon Jackson.

Meanwhile, Andre Fili (23-11 MMA) had most previously competed at December’s UFC 296 event, where he scored a first-round TKO victory over Lucas Almeida. ‘Touchy’ had gone 2-2 over his previous four fights, suffering losses to Joanderson Brito and Nathaniel Wood during that stretch.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 86 co-main event resulted in another thunderous knockout for Dan Ige. The Hawaiian was able to connect with a big right hand at the midway point of the opening round, which sent Andre Fili crashing to the canvas in all sorts of trouble. From there, ’50k’ would land one follow up punch that absolutely sealed the victory (see that here).

The win marked Ige’s fifth career finish under the UFC banner.
