Tony Ferguson has never been the kind of guy that holds anything back. He’ll walk into anywhere, shades permanently on his face, and speak his mind to anyone. If you’re not careful, he may start to demonstrate some new hybrid breakdance combat move that he invented right in front of you. He was in rare form though, speaking to the guys at Submission Radio while driving en route to a secluded training camp. Tony Ferguson was asked about Conor McGregor’s return and Nate Diaz, then fire emoji came out of Ferguson’s mouth one after another. “[Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor] are a bunch of b-tches. They want to go and they want to talk – look, we can f-cking put this sh-t out on video and we can make this a money fight. If you guys really wanna get gangster, let’s do that sh-t. If you want to f-cking put on money, let’s put it on paper. Nate, I will f-ckin’ Stockton slap the sh-t out of you, kid. You don’t f-cking know me, dude. Straight up. Same thing with Conor McGregor. You guys are a bunch of b-tches, and you guys are a bunch of fakes. If you wanna’ fight while we’re here in the UFC, why don’t you come and sign on the dotted line after you get your sh-t together and defend your f-cking belt, Conor?”

Although Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather did not break the all-time combat sports live gate record, the two superstars still have a good chance of breaking the pay-per-view record. Showtime Sports executive vice president and general manager Stephen Espinoza explained on this week’s episode of The MMA Hour where the numbers are currently at for the highly promoted fight and why the calculations for the pay-per-view numbers take so long to process.

In Los Angeles during the first stop of the Mayweather vs McGregor world tour press conference hyping up their multi-million dollar boxing match, Conor McGregor’s mic was cut off when it was Floyd Mayweather’s time to address the crowd. McGregor was not happy with the technical issue and targeted Showtime and executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports, Stephen Espinoza as enemies in the buildup for the fight. In Toronto for the second stop on the world tour, McGregor let it be known calling out Showtime and Espinoza. McGregor hurled insults at the Showtime Sports executive, pointing him out as a “weasel” and a “bitch.”

A stacked UFC 217 card is coming just around the corner in November, complete with (at least) two title fights. One of which will be Cody Garbrandt defending his bantamweight title against bitter rival and former champ, TJ Dillashaw. Behind one of the most skilled match-ups the UFC can make, lies the fire of a heated gym triangle surrounding the two fighters and once-shared friend, Urijah Faber. Sometimes featuring cameos by coach Duane Ludwig, the feud reached its boiling point on season 25 of The Ultimate Fighter, coached by Garbrandt and Dillashaw. However, this MMA drama owes its origins to an earlier season. On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Faber revealed that Conor McGregor served as a catalyst in this ongoing Team Alpha Male saga. “The whole thing with Conor [McGregor] happened on the [Ultimate Fighter 22] TV show before this. Before any of this happened, Conor McGregor started calling [Dillashaw] a snake because me and Conor had one conversation. We were sitting there and he goes, ‘Man, congratulations on TJ for defending his belt,‘ because he was still on our team his last title defense. And I go thanks, [McGregor] goes, ‘but what’s up with Duane [Ludwig] saying no one on your team wants to be a champions, that’s weird.‘ I said, oh he’s just bitter because he’s trying to get everyone to go out to his camp, he’s just being a hater, this and that. He took that little bit of drama between me and Duane […] then the next time he saw TJ he goes, ‘oh, there’s the snake in the grass‘, and just built it into this big thing.”

Now that Conor McGregor‘s blockbuster boxing match with Floyd Mayweather is in the rear-view, the big question on everyone’s mind is: what’s next for the Irish MMA superstar? Conor McGregor boxing Floyd Mayweather was one of the biggest fights of all time. Depending on which numbers you’ve seen. it either outperformed Mayweather’s fight with Manny Pacquiao or raked in just underneath it. The UFC lightweight champion made a ton of money, of course not as much as Mayweather, and Showtime definitely made a fortune. One business man though, in his own right, thinks that the two fighters could earn even more fighting inside an MMA cage. “If Floyd would fight Conor in MMA I think he’d do a bigger gate and a bigger PPV than boxing. People will say Conor will probably take him out or choke him out, but those two guys could sell anything. They would sell that fight, people would buy it and I think it would break the record from the weekend before last. If Conor takes him down, chokes him out and Floyd taps, there’s no loss of respect there. If you tap out it just means it’s his night and you go on to the next fight. Why not let him do it?”

The fight with Floyd Mayweather may have not gone as well as Conor McGregor and his team wanted, but it could have gone way worse. Both fighters have celebrated by sharing comments about walking away with an impressive amount of cash. Still, money isn’t everything, McGregor definitely wanted to win that fight and take over all combat sports as we know it. He even protested the stoppage, saying that he would have rather been knocked out. Coach Owen Roddy didn’t like it either, but he respected referee Robert Byrd’s decision to stop the fight. “The ref is in there to look after the fighters. I honestly think that because it was McGregor’s first boxing match and Conor got knocked out. There was some damage to Conor and he thought, ‘look, I’m not going to take the risk. He looks wobbly and I’m going to call it.’ I definitely think he could have gave him a count or something, I don’t know, but the ref is only trying to protect the fight so I’ll leave him to it.”

Current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is coming off the biggest payday of his career in the multi-million dollar boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, which is trending to be close to or breaking the Mayweather vs Pacquiao record for the richest fight in history. Following his 10th round TKO loss to Mayweather, McGregor held his head high in the ring and the two superstars shared a great deal of respect for one another. The two embraced in the ring after the fight was over and had good things to say about each other at the post-fight press conference.

How many fans have been thinking about the trilogy fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz now that the Mayweather boxing match is out of the way? Diaz was the last to defeat McGregor in mixed martial arts as he submitted the Irish superstar at UFC 196 back in March of last year. The two rivals met in a rematch at UFC 202 where McGregor won a close majority decision.

Back in early July, Jeff Horn defeated Manny Pacquiao with a hotly debated unanimous decision. Given the nature of Horn’s victory, plans for a rematch were quickly laid out for November 12. Regrettably, Pacquiao’s political duties have forced him out of this planned rematched, which has forced Horn and his team to begin hunting for a new opponent. Horn himself has suggested Jessie Vargas as a possible replacement.

Brendan Schaub has never been afraid to heap praise on UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor. On Saturday’s special UFC Rotterdam Fight Companion edition of The Joe Rogan experience, Schaub did just that once more, explaining the he believes McGregor will have an incredible amount of sway in future negotiations with new UFC owners WME-IMG. “Conor has changed the game for the better, especially if you’re the fighter,” Schaub told Joe Rogan (h/t MMAFighting.com). “With WME, he’s steering the ship. Think about it, he made over – the numbers have come out and they’re saying it’s gonna be the biggest pay-per-view of all time – so he made $100 million, right? So you’re telling me if you’re Conor, and you’re part of his team you’re gonna go, ‘Hey, fight Nate Diaz for $5-10 million and also, we need you to wear this Reebok and they’re gonna pay you $100,000 a year.’ You think Conor’s gonna [do that]? You’re crazy.”

Current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor put forth a valiant effort in his boxing super fight with Floyd Mayweather last weekend in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, after a terrific opening four rounds, “Mystic Mac” fatigued late in the bout which allowed Floyd Mayweather to score a tenth-round TKO victory. In the above video, we see an emotional Conor McGregor apologize to UFC President Dana White for not becoming the first man to ever defeat the legendary boxer.

Right after Conor McGregor lost his fight with Floyd Mayweather, everyone had their reactions. The most controversial reaction had to be Jose Aldo. We all know that McGregor knocked the former UFC featherweight champion out in “turteen” seconds, since then Aldo has commented on every step McGregor has made. That’s why no one was surprised when he tweeted a string of “crying laughing” emoji after Conor McGregor suffered a TKO from Mayweather. However, it turns out that Aldo might not have even sent the tweet. Actually, he didn’t even watch the fight. “You know every athlete has people who handle their social media – who work their social media. […] First of all, I didn’t even watch the fight. I was at a football game. It’s a No. 1 sport for me. I’m very passionate about it – Rams and Chargers. So, I didn’t even watch the fight. I don’t know. I have people who take care of my social media. I can’t even talk about what happened, because I didn’t watch the fight. I talked about it a lot. I was surrounded by boxers where I was, and they talked about the fight. But I didn’t watch it myself.”

There has been a bit of a debate regarding the 10th round TKO stoppage in the Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor money fight. McGregor said after the fight was over that he would have liked it if the ref let the fight go on as he claimed he was more fatigued than hurt.
