VIDEO | Joe Rogan explains why he thinks Mayweather and McGregor have a rematch

By Russell Ess - September 4, 2017

Floyd Mayweather is expected to make over $300 million and Conor McGregor over $100 million for their money fight. If they could repeat the success of their first fight, it’s hard to see how either man could turn down that kind of money for another boxing match scheduled for 36 minutes.

Joe Rogan spoke with comedian Hannibal Buress on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast recently and Rogan explained why he believes a rematch between the two superstars will happen.

“He’s [Mayweather] probably gonna make more than 300 million dollars from this last fight. Amazing. I can’t imagine that they won’t do that again.”

“If Conor can figure out how to not get tired, if he can convince people. Like, say if he fights Paulie Malignaggi, beats the shit out of Paulie Malignaggi and says ‘Floyd, let’s do it one more f*cking time!’”

Buress said he doesn’t think Floyd will want to fight as he made it clear after beating McGregor that he would never fight again.

“I don’t know,” Rogan said. “But, then he starts thinking about that money.

“If you could figure out a way to get people excited about it. Conor could somehow get more people to pay attention because it was an interesting fight for the first three or four rounds.”

Buress disagreed and said, “He made it look interesting but it really wasn’t interesting. I thought it was interesting but when I thought back, it wasn’t interesting.”

“Well he caught Floyd clean,” Rogan replied. “He caught him with an uppercut in the first round. Nobody hits Floyd clean like that. Floyd underestimated him I think.”

The two go on to argue their own points of how competitive the fight really was but at the end of it all as Rogan said, if interest can be built for a rematch, would Mayweather really turn down another payday worth over $300 million? Let’s get your thoughts on a potential rematch in the comment section!
