Strickland (25-3 MMA) last competed at February’s UFC Vegas 47 event, where he picked up his sixth consecutive win by defeating Jack Hermansson by way of split decision.

Alex Pereira says he is confused by Israel Adesanya’s ‘big pillow gloves’ comment ahead of UFC 276. Adesanya spoke about a potential rematch with Pereira ahead of UFC 276. Pereira  defeated ‘The Last Stylebender’ twice in kickboxing but Adesanya stated that the MMA doesn’t have ‘big pillow gloves’ like kickboxing and the middleweight champion can’t wait to drive a four-ounce glove ‘through (Pereira’s) face’ when they finally meet again.

Sean Strickland doesn’t think Alex Pereira is that good of a striker. Pereira is a decorated kickboxer and a former Glory champion, but Strickland isn’t sold on his skills. Instead, he believes Glory kickboxers are overhyped and aren’t as good as many think and he plans to prove that.

Chris Curtis wasn’t surprised when his longtime teammate Sean Strickland took the Alex Pereira fight. Strickland is set to face Pereira on the main card of UFC 276 in a highly-anticipated bout. It will serve as Pereira’s first-ranked opponent and the winner will likely get the next title shot and for Curtis, he says he wasn’t surprised that Strickland took this fight.

Glover Teixeira thinks Israel Adesanya will avoid fighting his teammate Alex Pereira at all costs. Pereira and Adesanya fought twice in kickboxing with the Brazilian winning both including one by KO. Since then, ‘The Last Stylebender’ made the move to MMA and has become a UFC champion, this while Pereira just recently got back into MMA and is now 2-0 in the UFC. The Brazilian is set to face Sean Strickland at UFC 276 on July 2 and should he win, many expect he will face Adesanya next. However, for Teixeira, he doubts the middleweight champ will accept the fight against Pereira.

Brendan Schaub doesn’t believe Alex Pereira will be granted a title shot with a win over Sean Strickland. It has been announced that Sean Strickland (25-3 MMA), one of the UFC’s top 185-pounders, will be taking on rising star Alex Pereira (5-1 MMA) at UFC 277 on July 30th, 2022 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Following the bout, the former kickboxing champion decided to call out the number two ranked middleweight Jared Cannonier. That’s in spite of the fact that ‘Killa Gorilla’ is set to face Israel Adesanya next.

At UFC 268, after months of anticipation, he knocked Andreas Michailidis out to win his debut and take his professional mixed martial arts record to 4-1. The win led to many suggesting he could continue to build on that success and potentially even fight Israel Adesanya one day, but as we know, middleweight is the kind of division that’s pretty difficult to predict.

Pereira is a former GLORY kickboxing star who made his UFC debut earlier this month at UFC 268 in spectacular fashion when he knocked out Andreas Michailidis with a flying knee. Considering Pereira holds a previous KO win over Adesanya in kickboxing, his teammate Teixeira believes that win will help him fast-track up the 185lbs ladder and get closer to a title shot against the champ. As far as Teixeira goes, it’s possible that we could see Pereira fight for the UFC middleweight title in just three fights if he continues to look in sharp form.

Pereira is a former GLORY kickboxing champion who made his UFC debut this past Saturday at UFC 268. The only man to ever KO current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in combat sports, there was a ton of hype behind Pereira entering the UFC, and he made good on it with the spectacular knockout win over Michailidis. After losing the first round by getting controlled on the ground, Pereira landed the insane flying knee KO in the second round to collect the first win in his UFC career, as well as a $50k bonus.
