The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced the full main card for UFC 281, headlined by Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira. Next weekend, the UFC returns to Madison Square Garden for a blockbuster PPV event.

Luke Rockhold says Alex Pereira becoming the middleweight champ would make him unretire. After Rockhold lost a decision to Paulo Costa at UFC 278, he announced his retirement from the sport. The fight marked his return to the sport after his knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239 in his light heavyweight debut. Although he has now officially retired, Rockhold isn’t fully ruling out a return to the sport.

Despite being just 3-0 since joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Alex Pereira has already earned a shot at the UFC middleweight title following his knockout win over Sean Strickland this summer. The Octagon remained in Nevada for tonight’s UFC 276 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Israel Adesanya vs. Jared Cannonier. Tonight’s middleweight title fight main event did not result in the barn burner most fans were hoping to witness. Instead, both men showed a lot of respect for each others power which prompted a slow and steady approach. Israel Adesanya got off the better volume if strikes in rounds one and two but Jared Cannonier began to make things more competitive by round three. Although rounds four and five were close, it was Adesanya who ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision win.
