Adrian Yanez knows he’s still a top-15 bantamweight despite losing to Rob Font back in April. Yanez suffered a first-round knockout loss and after the defeat, he knew what went wrong. The plan was to stay patient with Font, but after he rocked him, Yanez said he got too reckless, which was a good learning lesson.

Yanez had called out O’Malley after his win, and ‘Suga’ had said Yanez would be next, but the scrap never happened. Instead, O’Malley had a No-Contest against Pedro Munhoz and then defeated Petr Yan by split decision, which surprised many but not Yanez as he thought O’Malley was capable of winning that fight.

To only add to that, at weigh-ins and during the fight, Kelley was talking more trash. Even after after losing the fight Kelley continued to chirp which Yanez finds comical.

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley reaffirmed his interest in fighting rising star Adrian Yanez, saying “that’s a sick fight.” O’Malley called out Yanez after his “Fight of the Night” victory over Davey Grant at UFC Vegas 43. Yanez, however, suggested that O’Malley wasn’t being serious about the callout. “Suga,” though, confirmed that he is in fact interested in this fight, and he is hoping the UFC sets this fight up for next March should O’Malley beat Raulian Paiva at UFC 269.

UFC Vegas 43 winner Adrian Yanez responded to the callout from divisional rival Sean O’Malley following his big win over Davey Grant. Yanez defeated Grant in the “Fight of the Night” at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 43 card. It was a fantastic fight between two of the best bantamweights in the sport as both Yanez and Grant stood in the pocket and traded for 15 minutes. Yanez ended up edging out the split decision at the end of the fight, and he improved to 4-0 overall now in the UFC. He has three knockout wins and now, a decision win over Grant as he nears the top-15 at 135lbs.
