Volkov (31-8 MMA) will enter today’s contest looking to rebound after suffering a decision setback to Curtis Blaydes in his most recent Octagon appearance in June. That loss was preceded by a unanimous decision victory over former NFL star Greg Hardy last November.

Prior to that setback, ‘The Skyscraper’ was coming off an impressive submission victory over Marcos Rogério de Lima. The Dutch fighter had gone just 1-4 over his past five Octagon appearances entering today’s event.

In his most recent effort at UFC 249, ‘The Highlight‘ defeated Tony Ferguson by way of fifth round TKO to capture the promotions interim lightweight title.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and free agent heavyweight Fabricio Werdum traded shots on Twitter over the drug testing in Bellator. McGregor took to social media this week to criticize Bellator for its drug testing procedures. Unlike the UFC which has USADA in addition to the testing from athletic commissions, Bellator relies on the commissions of the jurisdictions where it holds events to provide its drug testing. McGregor believes that Bellator should step up its game and get to the UFC’s level when it comes to bringing in a third-party such as USADA to test.

A highly-anticipated welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev is set to headline a UFC event on December 19 in Las Vegas. As replayed by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, UFC president Dana White appeared on the Jim Rome show on Friday and made the announcement that the Edwards vs. Chimaev fight is a done deal. The fight will reportedly take place at 170lbs at a UFC Fight Night card on December 19 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be a five-round headliner.

So, when it was announced he won the fight, it was a major sigh of relief for the Brazilian.

Now that both men are free of the coronavirus and ready to return to the Octagon, the betting odds have been revealed for their fight.
