Matt Brown believes the UFC is squeezing all the juice they can out of Sean O’Malley: “Before Merab comes in and empties that cup out”

Matt Brown believes that the UFC is squeezing all the juice they can out of current bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley.

Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili

UFC veteran welterweight Matt Brown (24-19 MMA) believes that Merab Dvalishvili (17-4 MMA) will replace Sean O’Malley on the bantamweight throne in the near future.

It was during a recent episode of the ‘Fighter vs. Writer‘ podcast that Brown shared his belief that it should have been ‘The Machine’ getting a title shot at Sean O’Malley, not Marlon Vera:

“He’s (O’Malley’s) got good people around him, managing him, putting things together. It should have been Merab, but the UFC’s squeezing all the juice they can out of Sean O’Malley before Merab comes in and empties that cup out… Merab is the next champion. I don’t think there’s any doubt about it. Probably a longtime champion. I don’t see anybody coming up that can take Merab out. I mean, he just looks fantastic in everything he does. He’s absolutely a f**king train.”

Continuing, Brown doubled down on his praise of Dvalishvili:

“100 percent (Dvalishvili wins). I don’t there’s any question. He beats both of them (Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera) in the same night. I’ve been saying for a little bit now, especially after the way he just beat (Henry) Cejudo, there’s a decent chance he’s going to be one of the best of all time. I think he has a real good chance of being top five all time. There’s nobody beating him for a long time.”

Dvalishvili recently fought and defeated Henry Cejudo (16-4 MMA) in February of this year at UFC 298, making it 10 victories in a row for the 33-year-old.

Regardless of whether Brown would like to see Sean O’Malley vs Merab Dvalishvili, that fight will have to wait as ‘Suga’ is a little busy this coming weekend.

UFC 299 will see Sean O’Malley (17-1 MMA) face Marlon Vera (23-8 MMA) for the bantamweight title this coming Saturday, March 9th at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. O’Malley is looking to revenge his TKO loss to ‘Chito‘ back in August of 2020 at UFC 252.

Do you agree with Brown that Dvalishvili is set to be ‘the best of all time’? Do you think ‘The Machine’ will ultimately take down ‘Suga’ in the future?
