UFC 199 Results: Dan Henderson KO's Hector Lombard

A middleweight bout between former Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson (32-14 MMA) and former Bellator title holder Hector Lombard (34-6-1 MMA) took place at tonight’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. Round one begins and both fighters throw right hands that just miss. Hendo connects with a short right hand. Lombard presses forward. Lombard with a big leg kick. Hendo replies with a huge right that stuns Lombard. Henderson rushes in but gets caught by a Lombard left hand. He drops to the canvas. Lombard follows him to the ground. He gets him in a crucifix. Lombard with big shots from the top. Henderson escapes and gets up to his feet. Lombard hits him with a big combo. Hendo is rocked. His legs are jelly. Lombard with more big shots. Hendo hits the floor again. Lombard with some shots from full guard. Henderson is utilizing some good defense. Round one comes to an end.
UFC 199 Results: Dustin Poirier KO's Bobby Green

A lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier (20-4 MMA) and Bobby Green (23-7 MMA) kicked off the pay-per-view portion of tonight’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. Round one begins and Green comes forward with a left but gets countered with a right hand from Poirier. Dustin with a nice leg kick. Green with a good left hand. He follows that up with a leg kick. Poirier with a nice leg kick in response. Poirier with a huge shot that drops Bobby. Green gets back up but eats some more shots. He clinches with Dustin. They break and Green appears to have recovered. Poirier lands another good left hand. Bobby appears to be rocked. He’s trying to fight back but Poirier is relentless with strikes. Another huge left hand from Poirier. Green hits the canvas. Dustin jumps on him with punches. It is all over!
UFC 199 Results: Brian Ortega KO's Clay Guida

A featherweight bout between Brian Ortega (11-0 MMA) and Clay Guida (32-17 MMA) served as the headlining bout of tonight’s UFC 199 preliminary card in Las Vegas. Round one begins and Clay Guida is able to catch Ortega with a stiff left hand that sends him to the canvas. Brian pops right back up and circles away. Guida presses forward and lands a couple of shots from his flurry of punches. He has Ortega up against the fence and lands some good strikes inside. Guida with a nice right hand and then a leg kick. Ortega fires back with a combination but nothing lands flush. Guida is applying the pressure. He lands a nice right hand and then a follow up left. Ortega circles away and looks frustrated. The fighters exchange punches as round one comes to an end.

A lightweight bout between Beneil Dariush (13-2 MMA) and James Vick (9-1 MMA) took place during tonight’s UFC 199 prelims in Los Angeles. Round one started off with two nasty eye pokes from the fingers of James Vick. However, after some breaks in the action things quickly got under way. Beneil Dariush was able to find his range and land some thunderous strikes on his highly-touted opponent. Dariush dropped James with a right hand and followed up with some ground and pound. Vick absorbed tons of punishment but did not back down an inch. He got back to his feet but Beneil stayed right on him. The fighters battled in the clinch for almost a minute exchanging some close range strikes. When they finally broke Dariush rocked Vick with some big punches and then delivered an incredible left hand that floored the previously undefeated fighter.

A women’s strawweight tilt between Jessica Penne (12-4 MMA) and Jessica Andrade (14-5 MMA) took place on tonight’s UFC 199 prelims on FOX Sports 1. Round one begins and Penne begins by pawing her jab. Andrade is walking forward. She throws a viscous combo. Penne absorbs it but definitely did not like it. Penne gathers herself and throws a front kick. Once again Andrade presses forward and lands a big combination. Another good shot from Andrade. Penne lands a nice left jab. Andrade with a left hook and then some big shots to the body. She is overwhelming Penne against the fence. Penne is able to break free but Andrade continues to walk her down. Penne switches her stance. Andrade presses forward and lands some more big shots. Penne is circling but cannot get Andrade off of her. Andrade with a nice left hook and more shots to the body. Penne shoots in desperately for a takedown but it is not there. Andrade with a leg kick and then a left hook. Penne lands a nice combination. Andrade presses forward with shots. She lands a big blow to the body of Penne. Penne is backing up and Andrade lands another big shot. She falls to the ground at the same time the horn sounds to end round one.
UFC 199 Results: Alex Caceres defeats Cole Miller via decision

A featherweight bout between Cole Miller (21-10 MMA) and Alex Caceres (12-8 MMA) kicked off the UFC 199 prelims on FOX Sports 1. Round one begins and Caceres lands a leg kick. Caceres moves forward and lands a big left that rocks Miller. Cole pops back up to his feet and gets Caceres to the ground. After a scramble, Alex is able to take position and begins firing off shots from the top. Miller is able to create some separation and gets back to his feet. Caceres fires off with a jab. He lands a leg kick and presses forward on Cole. Nice high kick from Alex and then a straight left hand. Miller with a leg kick but Alex replies with a big kick to the body of Cole. Nice left hand and then a right from Caceres. Alex with a round house kick that partially lands. Miller comes forward and grabs a hold a Alex. Caceres picks him up and slams him to the ground. Caceres lands some shots from the top and then stands back up. Excellent body kick lands for Alex. He lands a nice combination. Miller charges forward with punches but ends up getting taken down. Alex decides to stand back up as round one comes to an end.

A welterweight bout between Sean Strickland (18-1 MMA) and Tom Breese (10-1 MMA) capped off the UFC 199 Fight Pass prelims tonight in Los Angeles. Round one begins and Breese opens things up with a kick to the body. Tom tries to go upstairs with a high kick but misses. Breese lands a leg kick. Sean is moving around well but has yet to throw anything significant. A solid leg kick lands for Breese. Tom lands a follow up kick to the body. Nice combination lands for Strickland. Breese with a nice left. Sean returns fire with a kick to the body. Sean is walking forward and applying the pressure. Breese misses with a front kick. Sean lands a nice right hand. Breese replies with a combination. A good leg kick lands from Sean who continues to walk forward on Breese. Strickland with a high kick. Breese charges forward with punches. Nice jab from Sean. He follows that up with a switch kick. Breese replies with a kick of his own but it is blocked. Sean lands a nice left hook. Breese with a nice kick and then another. Round one comes to an end.

Undfeated light heavyweights Luiz Henrique da Silva (11-0 MMA) and Jonathan Wilson (7-1 MMA) squared off in the third bout of tonight’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. Round one begins and Wilson lands a good combo that includes a nice kick to the body. Excellent body shots from Jonathan. Wilson with a leg kick. da Silva fires back with one of his own. Nice knee from the inside by da Silva. Jonathan with a good left hand. Good kick to the body lands for da Silva. He follows up with a good knee inside. Wilson with a nice combination. Luiz fires back with a leg kick. The fighters clinch and da Silva lands a couple of good knees. A big uppercut lands for Luiz. Wilson lands a nice elbow over the top. Jonathan with a left hand. Luiz presses forward with a kick to the body. He lands a couple of chopping leg kicks. Wilson with an elbow and then a right. Luiz charges forward with strikes. He clinches Jonathan and lands a knee. More punches from da Silva. Wilson fires back with a big left hook. Luiz lands another nice knee inside. Round one comes to an end.

A lightweight bout between Polo Reyes (6-2 MMA) and Dong Hyun Kim (13-8-3 MMA) kicked off tonight’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles. Round one begins and Ryes throws a right hand that misses. Nice left hands from both fighters. Kim pushes forward with strikes. Reyes lands a nice left. Kim replies with a huge left hook counter of his own. Kim connects with another left and then clinches Reyes against the fence. Reyes lands a big elbow that drops Kim. Dong gets back to his feet but eats a huge right hand. These guys are trading huge shots. A big left hand lands for Reyes and drops Kim. Reyes follows him to the ground and begins working from full guard. Kim is back up and once again the fighters start swinging wildy. Kim lands a knee. He’s coming forward with no regard for his safety. Reyes lands a hook. Kim shoots in and tries for a takedown. He has Reyes pressed against the cage and drags him down to the floor. Reyes gets back to his feet. The fighters clinch and the horn sounds to end round one.

Dominick Cruz discusses new weigh-in procedure in California

Prior to UFC 199, fighters had the opportunity to weigh-in throughout the course of the day on weigh-in day rather than at the official weigh-ins later in the day. The idea is that by giving fighters the opportunity to weigh-in throughout the day, they will be able to rehydrate better before their fights Saturday night.

Prior to Diaz getting the fight with McGregor on short notice, the product of Stockton sent out a blaring message in his post-fight Octagon interview after beating Michael Johnson. One of the topics was about the frustration White has had in putting the rematch together for the Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor rematch, with the bulk of the frustration coming from the negotiations on Diaz’s terms for the fight when they had lunch in Stockton two weeks ago.
