A lightweight bout between Lukasz Sajewski and Marc Diakiese kicked off the UFC 204 prelims on FS1. Round one begins and Marc charges forward but gets taken down with ease by Lukasz. Sajewski immediately moves to side control and looks to advance his position. Diakiese scrambles and gets back to half guard. Sajewski works some short shots from the position. Marc gets back to his feet but is in a guillotine choke. He picks up Sajewski and slams him to the ground. Lukasz bounces right back to his feet and presses Marc against the cage. He ducks under and scores a takedown on Diakiese. Sajewski moves to half guard and lands some short strikes to the body. Lukasz with a knee. Diakiese rolls for a heel hook. He uses the submission attempt to get back to his feet. Back-to-back low kicks score for Marc. He lands another and Lukasz shoots in for a takedown. It is not there and round one comes to an end.

A welterweight scrap between Danny Roberts and Mike Perry served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC 204 fight pass prelims in Manchester, England. Round one begins and Perry immediately presses forward with strikes. He lands a solid leg kick on Danny. Roberts scores with a left hand to the body. Perry is the aggressor early. Roberts fires off with a body kick. Perry replies with one of his own. A nice left hand scores for Danny. Mike presses forward and lands a right hand. Roberts misses with a combination. He steps inside and lands a knee. Perry presses forward but eats a leg kick. Perry with a stiff jab and then a high kick attempt that is blocked. He comes forward with some big punches. He scores a knee inside. Robert dives down for a takedown but it is not there. Perry takes his back and lands some strikes. Roberts scrambles but Perry winds up in side control. He switches to the back and begins searching for a rear-naked choke. Danny scrambles and gets back to his feet. Roberts lands a kick to the body and then one to the leg. Both men land with left hooks. Perry scores with a front kick. Danny replies with a hard kick to the body. The fighters exchange punches. Perry lands a big combination and then a massive uppercut. Roberts goes down. Perry jumps on him with punches but the horn sounds to end round one.

A lightweight bout between Leonardo Santos (16-4-1 MMA) and Adriano Martins (28-8 MMA) kicked off tonight’s UFC 204 pay-per-view event in Manchester, England. Round one begins and Santos lands a kick to the body to start. He follows that up with a front kick which is blocked. Martins circles and lands a low kick. Santos presses forward but misses with an attempt body kick. The fighters trade low kicks. Santos throws a high kick that is blocked. The fighters trade jabs. Martins is applying pressure now. Santos paws with a jab. Martins leaps forward with a left hook that misses. The fighters again trade low kicks. Another leg kick exchange. Martins catches a Santos low kick but cannot score with an attempted trip. Martins throws a big uppercut that partially connects. Santos fires back with a hard body kick. Round one comes to an end.

Former middleweight champion Brandon Halsey and former light heavyweight champ Emanuel Newton have left the Bellator building, so to speak. The news of Newton and Halsey’s release from the promotion was confirmed by Jason Floyd of The MMA  Report, making them the third former champ to jump ship this year alone.

The event is certainly a highly anticipated one, which will be headlined by a middleweight rematch seven years in the making. Several fights which have garnered interest from fans specifically include Danny Roberts vs. Mike Perry, which takes place on the UFC Fight Pass Prelims, Brad Pickett vs. Iuri Alcantara, which takes place on the Fox Sports 1 prelims, the co-main event scrap between Vitor Belfort vs. Gegard Mousasi, and of course the main event scrap between Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson.

It’s no secret that UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold have a very storied rivalry. The pair first met in the Octagon in 2014 in Sydney, Australia in the main event of ‘UFC Fight Night: 55’. While Bisping had stated before the fight that he got the better of Rockhold in training in the past, it was Rockhold who emerged from the fight victorious, earning himself a second round submission win.

Earlier this month, former Bellator MMA champion Will Brooks stepped into the Octagon to fight Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira on the main card of ‘UFC Fight Night: Portland’ despite the fact that Oliveira weighed-in five pounds over the lightweight limit of 156 pounds in a non-title fight. While Brooks started the fight out strong, an early rib injury began to hinder his performance. Ultimately, by the third round, the injury was so severe that Brooks, noticeably in pain, was TKOd before being taken out on a stretcher.

He also holds a highlight reel knockout win over current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, who he defeated back in 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Tonight on the main card of UFC 204 in Manchester, England. Bisping will look to defend his middleweight championship against Dan Henderson in the main event, while Belfort will look to bounce back from a loss as he faces Gegard Mousasi.

Ahead of UFC 205, Conor McGregor’s stock is at an all-time high. After suffering the first loss of his UFC career back in March at the hands of Nate Diaz, McGregor was able to avenge the loss at UFC 202 as he picked up a majority decision win over the Stockton superstar. While there was some speculation as to what weight class McGregor’s next fight would be at, the featherweight champ remained noncommittal about returning to featherweight to fight Jose Aldo once again, despite Dana White stating that he would be stripped of the belt if he doesn’t defend it. Ultimately, McGregor signed to fight UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205, the UFC’s inaugural event at the Madison Square Garden on November 12th.

Rumors are now swirling that GSP’s big announcement could be a super-fight with former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson “The Spider” Silva, which would headline the UFC 206 pay-per-view event set for December 10 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
