Colby Covington doesn’t seem too worried about Tyron Woodley’s skillset ahead of their grudge match on Saturday night. In the main event of UFC Vegas 11, Covington and Woodley will finally share the Octagon after years of trash-talking. Although many wanted this fight to happen while Woodley was the champion, at least the fight will happen. When it does, Covington is a sizeable favorite as opposed to the underdog he would’ve been.

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya says that his upcoming opponent at UFC 253, Paulo Costa, is the dirtiest fighter in MMA. Adesanya and Costa do not like each other and next Saturday at UFC 253 on Fight Island both men will finally get the chance to rip each other’s head off when they square off in the main event for the UFC middleweight title. The two rivals have been connected to a fight for the better part of a year now and UFC 253 is expected to be a massive event for the promotion, with UFC president Dana White calling it “Fight of the Year.”

Andre Ewell is looking to get his first Octagon finish this Saturday night at UFC Vegas 11 when he battles Irwin Rivera. When this fight was announced, many fans were confused by the matchup given Ewell is near the rankings while Rivera is just 1-1 in the UFC. Yet, for Ewell, he believes this is a good matchup for him as he returns from a broken arm and reveals he was offered Cody Stamann earlier this year but wasn’t cleared to fight.

UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson has officially been removed from UFC 254 after his proposed fight with Dustin Poirier fell through. Ferguson was set to fight Poirier in the co-main event of UFC 254. The fight would have likely been a No. 1 contender bout, with the winner of the fight taking on the victor of the main event between UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champ Justin Gaethje. It was also extra insurance just in case anything happened to the main event fighters, as either Ferguson or Poirier could have filled in for the fight.

UFC president Dana White says that aging warrior Donald Cerrone “needs to win badly” when he takes on Niko Price at UFC Vegas 11. Cerrone is one of the greatest fighters of all time and is a surefire UFC Hall of Famer when it’s all said and done. Just last year he was on a three-fight win streak against Al Iaquinta, Alexander Hernandez, and Mike Perry, but ever since then it’s been a tough go for “Cowboy.” Cerrone has lost his last four fights in a row against Anthony Pettis, Conor McGregor, Justin Gaethje, and Tony Ferguson, leading some to suggest he should retire.

Jan Blachowicz already knows who he wants to defend the light heavyweight title against first, assuming he beats Dominick Reyes at UFC 253. Blachowicz and Reyes will battle for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title in the co-main event of UFC 253, which is scheduled for September 26 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The division’s throne was left vacant after Jon Jones, the long-time champion, decided to move up to the heavyweight division.

On Thursday, UFC president Dana White announced that Chandler has signed with the world’s leading MMA promotion and he will serve as the backup to the UFC 254 lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje. Fans, media, and fellow fighters took to social media right away to talk about the big move.

UFC President Dana White says he’s working on some “fun stuff” for ostensibly retired former two-division champion Conor McGregor. McGregor, who previously ruled over the UFC lightweight and featherweight divisions, announced his retirement on June 6. That being said, there’s been widespread doubt that his retirement will stick, and it seems White shares that skepticism.

Donald Cerrone has no plans to hang up the gloves ahead of his fight with Niko Price, which goes down at UFC Vegas 11 this Saturday. Cerrone will enter the fight with Price on a four-fight skid, having come up short against Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor and Anthony Pettis in his most recent trips to the Octagon.

UFC featherweight Mirsad Bektic thankfully got a short-notice opponent for UFC Vegas 11 as Damon Jackson returns to the Octagon. Bektic was supposed to fight Eduardo Garagorri, but a cornerman for Garagorri tested positive for Garagorri tested positive for COVID-19 and the fighter was removed from the card out of caution. With Garagorri out, Bektic now takes on Jackson at this Saturday’s UFC Vegas 11 event. Bloody Canvas first broke the news of the fight.

Sijara Eubanks is set to step in and fight Ketlen Vieira on short notice after Marion Reneau pulled out of their upcoming showdown, ESPN reports. Eubanks is set to get back into the cage just two weeks after her unanimous decision win over Julia Avila last weekend, and if she’s able to get the win over Vieira, she’ll be taking her winning streak up to three.

UFC women’s strawweight standout Mackenzie Dern says that she left Black House after her husband got into a fight with her coach. Dern is one of the top-15 women’s strawweights on the UFC roster and this Saturday at UFC Vegas 11 she faces off against veteran Randa Markos. For Dern, she’ll be looking to get another win in 2020 after submitting Hannah Cifers with a kneebar in her last outing. She will be doing so with a new camp after recently departing from Team Black House as she is now learning the striking game under the tutelage of Jason Parillo.
