Alex Pereira, Jamahal Hill

For months now, there’s been a tremendous amount of hype behind UFC 300. It’s the kind of landmark event that has the potential to be absolutely huge if the promotion gets behind it in the right way. Last night, we also got an official announcement regarding the main event, with Dana White revealing that Alex Pereira will defend his UFC light heavyweight championship against Jamahal Hill in the headline slot.

When it comes to the rest of the card, it’s absolutely stacked – and for the first time in a while, it looks like there will be six fights on a PPV main card.

As per the UFC 298 broadcast, this is the current main card lineup for UFC 300 as it stands.

UFC 300 Main Card – Saturday, April 13 – Las Vegas, Nevada

Light heavyweight title – Alex Pereira [c] vs. Jamahal Hill
Strawweight title – Zhang Weili [c] vs. Yan Xiaonan
BMF title – Justin Gaethje [c] vs. Max Holloway
Lightweight – Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
Light heavyweight – Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic
Featherweight – Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling

As of this writing, it certainly seems as if fans are divided with this card. When you include the prelims, it’s certainly shaping up to be one of the most stacked shows we’ve ever seen in the history of mixed martial arts.

Despite that, a lot of critics had higher expectations for more ‘big names’ to appear. Regardless of whether or not you agree with that, it’s an opinion that definitely feels pretty widespread.
