Kyle Daukaus figured he would be fighting Julian Marquez next. Daukaus and Marquez were originally booked to fight on February 19, but Marquez was forced to withdraw and Jamie Pickett stepped up. Daukaus ended up winning by first-round submission and after the victory, he figured he would be rebooked against Marquez. Instead, he was booked against Dolidze, who he was supposed to face last November.

Christopher Taylor - October 27, 2021

Kevin Holland has been forced to withdraw from his slated rematch with Kyle Daukaus which was scheduled for UFC Fight Night 197. Holland (21-7 MMA) and Daukaus (10-2 MMA) collided earlier this month in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 38. The bout ended in controversy, as after a back and forth start the pair of middleweights clashed heads which left Kevin Holland rocked and on the canvas.

Kyle Daukaus disagrees with no-contest ruling in fight with Kevin Holland at UFC Vegas 38

Christopher Taylor - October 2, 2021

Kyle Daukaus was left feeling annoyed after his fight with Kevin Holland at UFC Vegas 38 was ruled a no-contest by promotional officials. Daukaus (10-2 MMA) had entered tonight’s co-main event looking to rebound, this after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Phil Hawes in his most previous effort back in May. Prior to that setback, the Philadelphia native was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Dustin Stolzfus at UFC 255.
