In a recent appearance on TMZ’s Hollywood Beatdown, Tyron Woodley tore into Gastelum for the comments he made about Woodley during the Dominance MMA media tour in Los Angeles. Woodley was not happy that Gastelum called him out for a rematch, and “The Chosen One” ripped into him on TMZ.

Kelvin Gastelum, one of the top contenders in the division, will be watching this fight very closely. Speaking to South China Morning Post recently, Gastelum weighed in on this middleweight title fight. He has fought Adesanya previously, losing a decision to “Stylebender” in April, and has also been scheduled to fight Whittaker, though the bout unfortunately never happened. However, on the day of the fight, the champ had to pull out of the contest due to health reasons. Fast forward to UFC 236, and in the co-main event, Gastelum was fighting for the interim title against Israel Adesanya. Ultimately, Adesanya beat Gastelum by unanimous decision in what is a front runner for the fight of the year.

Last night, the UFC returned to Atlanta, Georgia where two interim title fights were on the line. In the main event, featherweight champion, Max Holloway was moving up in weight to take on Dustin Poirier for the interim lightweight title. In the co-main event, Kelvin Gastelum was taking on Israel Adesanya for the interim middleweight title. Ultimately, both fights delivered. Adesanya ended up beating Gastelum by unanimous decision, the same result of the main event where Poirier beat Holloway for a second time and snapped his 13-fight winning streak.
