The highly anticipated men’s flyweight main event proved to be a thrilling twenty-five-minute affair. Brandon Moreno got off to a strong start in the opening two rounds, but Brandon Royval stormed back in the final fifteen minutes of the fight. ‘Raw Dawg’ utilized forward pressure and a plethora of strikes to ultimately get the better of ‘The Assassin Baby’, earning a well-deserved split decision victory.

UFC Mexico City is co-headlined by a featherweight rematch between Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega. The contest resulted in a third-round submission victory for Ortega. After a tough opening round, which included getting dropped by a punch, ‘T-City’ was able to turn the tide in round two thanks to his forward pressure and grappling. Then, in round three, Ortega was able to get the fight to the floor early and promptly locked up a fight-ending arm triangle choke.

Following the conclusion of tonight’s event, UFC officials announced at the post-fight press conference that four fighters would be taking home performance bonuses.
