Dana White has found himself on the receiving end of multiple accusations from Joshua Fabia since things fell apart with Diego Sanchez. Sanchez was recently released from the UFC ahead of a scheduled Donald Cerrone matchup after Fabia began seeking out medical records and releasing questionable backstage footage. Unfortunately for Sanchez as a result, he’s left floating through free agency with White contemplates whether or not to bring him back.

Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley may box twice. According to Malki Kawa, Woodley’s manager, Paul, the brash YouTuber turned boxer negotiated an automatic rematch clause for their fight. Of course, Paul and Woodley will headline a Showtime boxing card on August 28. It’s a stiff test for the 3-0 pro boxer and if he loses, he has the right to trigger an immediate rematch.

Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman will be running it back. Ever since Usman knocked out Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 many wondered who would be next for the welterweight champ. He has plenty of options with the likes of Covington, Stephen Thompson, the Leon Edwards-Nate Diaz winner, or Michael Chiesa. But, according to White, it will be the Covington rematch.

Tyron Woodley will be making millions of dollars to box Jake Paul, his manager Malki Kawa, revealed. After it was made official that Woodley would box Paul, the former UFC champion claimed it would be the biggest purse of his career. According to Kawa, Woodley did better than Ben Askren due to the fact he’s getting a cut of the pay-per-view which Askren did not. With that, he says Woodley will make millions of dollars.

UFC president Dana White explained why welterweight rivals Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal were not the TUF 29 coaches. Many fans were surprised when the UFC named featherweights Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega as coaches for this season of TUF. Both fighters are tremendous talents, but for months it was rumored that the show would have Covington and Masvidal as the coaches. So when it was revealed to be Volkanovski and Ortega, some fans were let down.

UFC president Dana White reacted to the Jake Paul boxing match, saying that “Tyron Woodley doesn’t look like the Tyron Woodley of the past.” It was officially announced this week that Paul will take on Woodley on August 28 in a professional boxing match on Showtime PPV. Paul has looked good in his first three boxing matches, winning all of them including a knockout win over Ben Askren in his last outing. Following that fight, there were rumors that he could take on Woodley next, Askren’s longtime friend and training partner, and the fight was officially booked this week. It was made possible to make because Woodley’s contract with the UFC recently expired following a stoppage loss to Vicente Luque and the promotion decided not to sign him to a new deal.

Marcin Tybura had a phenomenal 2020 and is looking to build off of that on Saturday. After being TKO’d by Shamil Abdurakhimov in April of 2019, he returned in September of that year and was knocked out in just 59 seconds by Augusto Sakai. After the losses, he had a new mindset for fighting and went 4-0 in 2020 with wins over Sergey Spivak, Maxim Grishin, Ben Rothwell, and a TKO win over Greg Hardy.

UFC president Dana White claims the world’s leading MMA promotion will “soon” introduce full-time health benefits to their fighters. White replied to a fan on Instagram who asked him if the UFC would consider having a full-time health benefits package for its fighters so they can deal with issues once their fighting careers are over. For the first time in over a decade, White revealed that the UFC is working on such a benefits package for its athlete (via MMAjunkie.com).

Eddie Alvarez ripped pro boxers for calling out MMA fighters, saying “We really fight! Take your gloves and shoes and shove them up your ass!” Alvarez is the former UFC lightweight champion, the former Bellator lightweight champion, and one of the most respected and well-traveled MMA fighters of all time. Although Alvarez is known for his boxing skills inside the cage, he hasn’t been one of the MMA fighters who has tried to make the move to boxing like so many others have. And based on his social media post, it doesn’t seem like Alvarez has any interest in boxing anytime soon, either.

After retiring from mixed martial arts last year, Khabib left the door open for one of many top lightweights to rise up and claim the belt. Last month, Charles Oliveira answered the call with a phenomenal comeback win over Michael Chandler in Houston.

Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz has resigned from his position on the Huntington Beach City Council after just seven months in the job. Ever since he was sworn into power in the wake of the 2020 elections, Ortiz has been embroiled in a string of controversies courtesy of his views and comments related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the issues have stretched far beyond this but in general, his arguments with fellow members of the council have focused on his views regarding masks and ranting about how the pandemic is playing out.
