Shavkat Kakhmonov has reacted after being labeled a ‘chump’ by Khamzat Chimaev. Khamzat Chimaev (11-0 MMA) is just coming off his victory over Gilbert Burns (20-5 MMA) this past weekend at UFC 273. The undefeated Swede is looking to keep his winning streak going, ultimately looking for a title bout.

Henry Cejudo has rejected Michael Bisping’s opinion that he is too small to overcome UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski. Last week, Henry Cejudo announced that he will be re-entering the USADA testing pool with the intention of returning to active competition. It comes almost two years after his initial retirement from mixed martial arts at UFC 249 and while he’s teased a comeback on several occasions, many didn’t really know whether or not he would pull the trigger on it.

UFC commentator Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe Aljamain Sterling’s win over Petr Yan should be viewed as a robbery. Last weekend in the co-main event of UFC 273, Aljamain Sterling edged out a split decision triumph over Petr Yan. The win cemented his status as the UFC bantamweight champion and in doing so, created another branch of controversy amongst fans who felt as if Yan should’ve gotten the nod on the judges’ scorecards.

Last Saturday night at UFC 273, Aljamain Sterling shocked the world by grinding out a split decision win over rival Petr Yan. While some did score the fight for “No Mercy”, nobody can deny that “Funk Master” performed above and beyond what many had expected of him.
Kay Hansen reacts after being released by the UFC

UFC strawweight Kay Hansen has been released from the UFC. The promotion officially removed her from the roster earlier today. The move doesn’t come as a massive surprise. The 22-year-old was signed to the promotion in 2020. Her first outing to the cage was a solid third-round submission over former Invicta FC atomweight champion Jinh Yu Frey. For her efforts, she received a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus.

Drakkar Klose doesn’t think he will ever be the same after the shove from Jeremy Stephens at the face-off after weigh-ins. Klose and Stephens were set to fight at UFC Vegas 24 on April 17, but Stephens shoved Klose at weigh-ins, and right away he knew something was wrong. He was still dehydrated and didn’t expect the shove which is why he thinks the injury was so bad.

Islam Makhachev isn’t a fan of Alexander Volkanovski thinking he could get a lightweight title fight. Volkanovski is coming off a TKO win over Korean Zombie at UFC 273 to defend his featherweight title for the third time. It was an impressive performance and after the win, Volkanovski said he didn’t know what would be next. However, he recently came out and said he would like a lightweight title fight to try and become a champ-champ.
Dustin Poirier says he hasn't heard from the UFC in months but believes they are waiting to book the fourth Conor McGregor fight

Dustin Poirier believes the UFC is waiting for Conor McGregor to get healthy so they can book the fourth fight between them. Since Poirier suffered a submission loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 for the lightweight title, he has called out Nate Diaz for a fight. Both men showed interest in the bout and many fans had hoped the UFC would make it. Yet, it hasn’t come to fruition yet, and according to ‘The Diamond’ he says he hasn’t heard from the promotion in months.

UFC bantamweight Marlon Moraes announces retirement from MMA

Former UFC title challenger Marlon Moraes has announced his retirement from MMA. ‘Magic’ is currently riding a four-fight losing streak, with several being lopsided knockout losses. His last appearance in the cage was against Song Yadong last month, ending in a first-round stoppage. Following the fight, Moraes took his gloves off in the cage, leading many to speculate that his career was over.

Aljamain Sterling wasn’t surprised when he heard Dana White thought Petr Yan beat him at UFC 273. In the co-main event of the pay-per-view card, Sterling edged out Yan by split decision to defend his belt in a highly-anticipated rematch. To many, the fight came down to the first round and White thought Yan won it which won him the fight.

Chris Barnett is excited to return to the Octagon and build off his last win. At UFC 268, Barnett picked up his first UFC win in highlight-reel fashion as he landed a spinning wheel kick KO against Gian Villante. Since then, Barnett says his fan base has only grown and although this is much later than he wanted to return, he is eager to face Martin Buday at UFC Vegas 51. Given that Buday beat his friend Lorenzo Hood to earn his way into the promotion, Barnett is extra motivated for this one.

The UFC 273 co-main event between Aljamain Sterling (21-3 MMA) and Petr Yan (16-3 MMA) took place this past weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. It was Sterling who succeeded in defending his bantamweight belt by defeating Yan with a split decision victory.
