ONE Championship flyweight titleholder Demetrious Johnson won’t be around much longer. ‘Mighty Mouse’ has been out of the cage since his rematch with Adriano Moraes last August. In their first outing the previous April, the Brazilian scored a highlight-reel second-round knockout win. To his credit, Johnson repaid the favor last year, winning the flyweight title with a third-round stoppage.

Iuri Lapicus, a one-time ONE Championship title challenger has died at 27. Lapicus’ death was first reported by his friend and training partner in former ONE featherweight kickboxing champion Giorgio Petrosyan. The news was later confirmed by multiple outlets including ONE Championship, who confirmed the news to SCMP.
Doctor exposes flaws in ONE Championship hydration testing and admits to helping "big names" cheat weigh-ins

ONE Championship’s hydration testing is once again back under fire. In December 2015, Chinese athlete Yang Jian Bing passed away, reportedly due to complications from a weight cut for a bout in ONE Championship. Just weeks after the contest, the promotion instituted a new weight-cutting policy that involved hydration testing.
Sage Northcutt slated for first fight in four years at ONE Fight Night 10 in May

ONE Championship lightweight contender Sage Northcutt is finally slated to make his return. ‘Super Sage’ has been out of action since his clash with Cosmo Alexandre in May 2019. Despite reportedly receiving interest from Bellator, Overeem seemed disinterested in competing in MMA. Instead, he signed to Glory Kickboxing.

Last week it was revealed that Alvarez and ONE Championship mutually agreed to part ways and since then, the former Bellator and UFC lightweight champ said it was no bad blood on the exit. Sityodtong confirms that but admits the promotion didn’t get what they wanted from Alvarez and vice versa.
