Count the co-owner of the UFC among the parties interested in a potential celebrity showdown between Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise.
According to a report from TMZ, Ari Emanuel ‚ the co-CEO of William Morris Endeavor — is very interested in booking a fight between Bieber and Cruise. According to the report, Emanuel allegedly called Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun last week and added UFC President Dana White into the call. Emanuel reportedly told Bieber’s camp that he believes Bieber vs. Cruise would be an “epic fight that needed to happen” and TMZ reports that White agreed with him and is on board with the potential showdown.
The report also said that Bieber’s manager said his client is absolutely serious about the fight. According to the report, Emanuel believes Tom Cruise would take the fight.
As ridiculous as it sounded when we first saw Bieber’s tweet calling Cruise out, it looks as though there might actually be some legs behind this fight. Dana White has already gone on the record and said he would be foolish not to book this fight, which would probably deliver a massive gate and huge pay-per-view numbers despite the combat sports inexperience of both Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise. Despite having zero fights combined, the fact is they are two of the most well-known celebrities in the world, and if they do end up fighting, it would get the whole world talking — for better or for worse.
As of now, we haven’t heard anything from Cruise’s camp about taking the fight with Bieber. But we know Bieber wants it, and now we know the UFC’s co-owner and its President want to see it, too. As crazy as it sounds, we are at least one step closer now to Justin Bieber fighting Tom Cruise in the Octagon.
