Pop star Justin Bieber recently made headlines by calling for a UFC fight with Hollywood actor Tom Cruise — although he then walked that call-out back, admitting a fight with Cruise is most likely Risky Business, and that he’d probably lose.

Well, it sounds like Bieber will potentially have to answer for his words anyway.

Speaking to TMZ Sports at the unveiling of the new UFC Apex, UFC President Dana White said that he often hears from combat sports Outsiders who want to settle their various beefs inside the UFC’s Octagon. And somewhere amid of the buzz of this bizarre Justin Bieber vs. Tom Cruise storyline, somebody contacted him and claimed the former would “do the fight.”

“So I’m gonna tell you something interesting,” White said (transcript via MMA Fighting). “Obviously, this thing came out – lots of people will talk about fighting somebody in the UFC, things like that. Whether it’s NFL players, or celebrities or whatever, it happens a lot. So obviously I saw it like everybody else did and I didn’t pay much attention to it. It picked up a lot of steam and was everywhere. I’m not gonna say any names but I’m just gonna tell you that I got a phone call from a couple of real guys that said that they really do want to do this fight and they believe that Tom Cruise would do the fight. And I told them, ‘Well, I’ll tell you this, if that’s true, if that’s true and everybody involved in this thing really wants to do it, we can talk.’”

Just imagine the scale of this fight. One of the biggest stars in music versus one of the biggest stars in movies. A veritable War of the Worlds. If it were to go down, Dana White says it would be the easiest fight to sell that he’s ever promoted.

“Let me tell you what, I’d be an idiot not to make this fight,” White said. “That would be the easiest fight to ever promote in the history of my career.”

Sure, a fight between Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber sounds unlikely, but in the eyes of Dana White, Conor McGregor’s 2017 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather proved that anything is possible.

“I didn’t think that Floyd and Conor was gonna happen and it did,” White said. “Anything is possible these days. Anything is possible.”

Do you think Dana White can book a showdown between Tom Cruise and Justin Bieber? Will promoting this fight be Mission: Impossible, or will the UFC boss wind up toasting another massive payday with a post-fight Cocktail? Time will tell.
