Like so many of us, Max Holloway is tired of the ongoing Twitter beef between UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former lightweight and featherweight champ Conor McGregor. In fact, he believes the two UFC stars could achieve a tremendous amount of good if they combined forces. They might even be able to combat climate change (h/t MMA Mania).
Holloway first discussed notion in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
”Climate change is for real,” Holloway said. “Look at the climate change, stop looking at these guys talking about what they’re talking about. They’re not talking about fighting any more. That’s what it’s about.”
Max Holloway elaborated on the possibility of McGregor and Nurmagomedov teaming up to save our warming planet in an interview with TMZ Sports. Clearly, this is something he’s thought about quite a bit.
”At the end of the day it’s not even about the sport any more, so I don’t even want to talk about that,” he said. “I’m glad Dana White said he’d intervene. You know, these guys got a big platform, they should talk about more important stuff like climate change.”
”Like right now in New York, it’s not supposed to be this cold, I’ve heard it’s supposed to be warmer. And in Hawaii it’s been pretty cold, in the 70s. I know I sound like a big cry baby about 70s, but us Hawaiians are not used to this weather! What’s up with the climate control?”
What do you think of these comments from Max Holloway? Should Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov team up and use their massive followings for good?
