Alan Jouban (14-4 MMA) is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC’s stacked welterweight division. “Brahma” has gone 5-2 under the UFC banner and is currently riding a two-fight win streak. The 33-year-old is currently recovering from surgery, this to repair a broken hand suffered in his latest octagon appearance. With that said, Jouban is already planning his UFC return, as he hopes to compete again this December in Sacramento, possibly against veteran Patrick Cote.

A women’s catchweight bout (140-pounds) served as the main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 95 fight card in Brazil as Cris Cyborg took on Lina Lansberg. Round one begins and Cyborg presses forward with strikes early. She presses Lina against the cage and lands some knees inside. Big knees to the body from Cyborg. Lina does not seem to know how to defend the clinch position. She is holding on but eating some brutal knees to the body. Cyborg breaks and throws a big combination. Lina fires back but misses. Cris pushes Lansberg back against the cage. She lands a nice knee inside. The referee steps in a tells the fighters to break. Lina comes forward and the fighters clinch. More knees from Cyborg from the clinch. Cris drops down and lands a takedown. She moves to full mount and begins raining down some heavy punches. Lansberg fights her way back to half guard and stands up. Cyborg clinches up and lands a knee. She separates and lands a huge combo. Big shots from Cris but Lina survives to see round two.

A featherweight bout between former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao and Phillipe Nover served as the co-main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 95 event in Brazil. Round one begins and Nover lands a jab to start. Barao replies with his own. A low kick from Barao lands low but the fight continues. The fighters trade jabs. A hard low kick lands from Barao. Nover scores with a left, and Barao answers with one of his own. Barao fires off with two punches. Barao leaps in again, and Nover scores a counter left that sends him down. Barao pops right back to his feet. Barao with a low kick. Another left scores for Nover. Low kick for Barao. Nover with a left. Barao kicks to the body. Round one comes to an end.

Nelson presses forward and lands a left. A big leg kick scores for “Bigfoot”. He comes forward and lands a jab. Another nice leg kick from Silva. He presses forward and Roy misses with a huge right. Nelson goes to the body. Silva lands a leg kick. Roy misses with another big overhand right attempt. Roy presses forward and lands a short right. Silva with a kick to the body. Nelson counters with a right hand. Another kick from Silva. Nelson presses forward and lands a right. Silva eats it and fires back with a combo. Nelson comes in and attempts a takedown. He presses Silva against the fence. Roy with some knees inside. Silva counters with some short punches. They break and Roy lands a left hand as round one comes to an end.

A lightweight bout between Francisco Trinaldo and Paul Felder took place on tonight’s UFC Fight Night 95 main card in Brazil. Round one begins and Felder presses forward and lands a leg kick. Paul with another solid leg kick that lands. He goes to the body. Trinaldo fires back with a leg kick but Felder returns fire with back-to-back low kicks. Another leg kick scores for Paul and then another. He just misses with a spinning back fist. He presses forward and lands a jab. Trinaldo lands a left hand and then another. He comes forward and lands a knee. The fighters clinch and Trinaldo lands another knee inside. He shoots for a takedown but Paul says no. Francisco has Felder pressed up against the cage. Felder lands some short elbows. He switches the position but Trinaldo quickly puts Paul back against the cage. The fighters break and Felder missing with a spinning high kick. Paul lands a big leg kick and then a push kick. Trinaldo with a nice left. Another high kick from Felder that is blocked. Round one comes to an end.

A middleweight bout between Thiago Santos and Eric Spicely took place on the UFC Fight Night 95 main card. Round one begins and Spicely presses forward and scores and early takedown. Santos is able to scramble back up to his feet. Spicely charges after him and secures another takedown. He moves to half guard and is looking to secure a kimura submission. He uses the attempt to transition to the back of Santos where he secures a rear-naked choke. Santos tries to fight it off but it is deep. Spicely squeezes and forces the tap. This one is over.

A featherweight bout between Godofredo Pepey and Mike De La Torre kicked off tonight’s UFC Fight Night 95 main card in Brazil. Round one begins and both men trade big shots to start. Pepey lands a couple of huge shots and La Torre is rocked. Pepey moves in but Mike is able to get a hold of him and they briefly grapple. The fighters break and Pepey comes forward with a flying knee. Both men are trading huge shots. Pepey once again lands a big shot. La Torre is rocked. More shots from Pepey. Mike covers up and Pepey takes his back. He drags La Torrie to the floor and sinks in both hooks. Pepey secures a body triangle. He searches for a rear-naked choke. It is in deep and this one is all over. De La Torre was forced to tap.

A bantamweight bout between Rani Yahya and Michinori Tanaka took place on tonight’s UFC Fight Night 95 preliminary card in Brazil. Round one begins and Tanaka lands a kick to the body and then a combination. Yahya presses forward and lands a solid combination. Rani shoots in and scores a takedown. He locks in a quick arm triangle choke. The submission is in tight. Tanaka is trying to defend but this looks deep. Tanaka gives the thumbs up. Rani has had Tanaka stuck in this sub for over two minutes now. Yahya finally lets go and steps over in to side control. Tanaka scrambles and is able to take top position. He begins working from half guard. Rani fights his way back to full guard. Tanaka works some short shots to the body. Yahya is doing a good job of defending. Round one comes to an end.

Formiga shoots in and scores a takedown. He moves immediately to half guard. He steps over to side control. Ortiz scrambles and gets back to half guard. Formiga with some short shots from the top. Ortiz scrambles and winds up on top and in full guard. Ortiz is trying to advance his position but Formiga is doing a good job of defending. Ortiz with some short shots. Formiga gets back to his feet and round one comes to an end.

A lightweight bout between Alan Patrick and Stevie Ray served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 95 fight pass prelims in Brazil. Round one begins and Patrick shoots in and scores an early takedown. Ray pops right back up to his feet. He grabs Patrick and turns him against the cage. Alan switches the position and scores a trip-takedown. Ray fights his way back to his feet but Patrick has him wrapped up. He drags Ray back down but Stevie scrambles and winds up in full mount. Ray shoots for an armbar and has it locked in. Patrick is in trouble but appears to be slowly escaping the hold. He breaks free from the armbar and presses Ray against the cage. They scramble and Patrick ends up in top position and begins working from full guard. Patrick is able to move to half guard. Ray is firing off shots from the bottom. Patrick steps over and gets to side control. Ray quickly scrambles back to full guard. Alan fires a big elbow from the top. He lands anther solid shot this time a punch. He advances to half guard. Round one comes to an end.

Report: Holly Holm's hand healed, planning one more fight for this year

Former woman’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm had her hand-cast removed this week and if all goes well, she plans to fight again by the end of the year. Holm, who injured her left hand and required surgery for her left thumb in August, most recently lost a decision to Valentina Shevchenko in July. Holm suffered the hand injury during the fight with Shevchenko, but still plans on fighting before the end of this year, according to Holm’s manager Lenny Fresquez:

Earlier this year, former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao made his highly anticipated featherweight debut in the UFC as he squared off against Jeremy ‘Lil Heathen’ Stephens. Barao was going up in weight with the intentions of getting a fresh start after suffering two defeats at the hands of UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. Unfortunately for Barao, his featherweight debut didn’t go as planned. While he was able to make the featherweight limit of 145 pounds, he ultimately ended up dropping a unanimous decision to Stephens at ‘UFC Fight Night: 88’.
Nick Diaz wants catchweight fight with Michael Bisping

Nick Diaz, who recently celebrated the end of his suspension, but still finds himself suspended by the NAC due to the fact that he hasn’t paid his $100,000 fine yet, is making moves behind the scenes to set up his UFC return. After his unanimous decision loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 183, which was overturned to a no-contest after Silva failed a pair of drug tests for PEDs and Diaz failed a drug test for marijuana, Diaz was suspended for 5 years. Fortunately, the MMA community was able to rally behind Diaz, resulting in the NAC reducing the suspension to 18 months.
Dan Henderson won't hesitate to land controversial shots if he KOs Michael Bisping

Back in 2009, Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping steeped into the Octagon for a highly anticipated middleweight showdown after coaching opposite one another on season 9 of The Ultimate Fighter. In the second round of the fight, Henderson picked up what is considered by many to be one of the greatest knockouts of all time as he landed a thunderous right hand that put Bisping to sleep. As Bisping was starched on the canvas, Henderson followed up with several ground and pound shots before the referee stopped the fight.
Khabib Nurmagomedov makes promise to UFC's lightweight division

Undefeated Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently ranked at #1 on the UFC’s official lightweight rankings behind none other than lightweight campion Eddie Alvarez. Nurmagomedov, who has gone 7-0 inside the UFC en route to a 23-0 professional record, boasts one of the best records in MMA, however has yet to get the recognition he deserves due to the fact that he only holds 1 win over a member of the UFC’s top 15 lightweights.
