Last Saturday night, in the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza, former UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo stepped into the cage with a fellow Brazilian in Renato Moicano. Aldo looked every bit an MMA great in this fight, thumping Moicano to a second-round TKO victory. While this was the outcome he sought, however, he did not take great pleasure in defeating one of his countryman, and a fighter still on the come-up.

The card was billed as a USA vs. Mexico event, as each matchup pitted an American fighter against a Mexican fighter or fighter of Mexican heritage. In the main event, all-action UFC veteran Leonard Garcia made a return to the ring against infamous Ultimate Fighter veteran Julian Lane. Leonard Garcia won this BKFC 4 main event showdown by second round knockout.

Earlier this week, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) convened to decide the fates of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, who were involved in a hectic, post-fight brawl after their UFC 229 contest. Conor McGregor was handed a $50,000 fine and six month suspension. Khabib Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, was hit with a much heavier $500,000 fine and a nine-month suspension, though this suspension can be reduced to six months if completes an anti-bullying public service announcement.
