Until very recently, former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm was expected to fight Aspen Ladd at UFC 235 on March 2. Then, at last night’s UFC 235 press conference, UFC President Dana White casually dropped the news that Holm would not be competing on the card after all. In the wake of this news, many members of the MMA community guessed that Holly Holm could be reallocated to a title fight with Amanda Nunes, who currently owns the UFC bantamweight and featherweight belts. Brazilian publication Combate is reporting that this is indeed the case.

Bellator featherweight contender Aaron Pico is arguably the most hyped prospect in mixed martial arts since reigning UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones was on the come-up. In his last fight, however, Pico found himself face-down on the canvas after getting a little too aggressive against the fearsome Henry Corrales. Speaking to MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi after the UFC 235 press conference on Thursday, Jon Jones shared a piece of advance for Aaron Pico.

At UFC 235 Tyron Woodley will defend his welterweight title. However, it will not be against Colby Covington, rather he will take on Kamaru Usman. To many, the news was surprising given Covington was the interim welterweight champion and seemed to be next in line. But, according to American Top Team owner Dan Lambert, Covington was skipped because he turned down a fight for possibly another interim title.

Late last month, UFC bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw boldly dropped down to the flyweight division to challenge local champ Henry Cejudo in a bid to become a two-division champion. Unfortunately for Dillashaw, he lost in less than a minute — though he certainly didn’t agree with the stoppage. Speaking to UFC commentator Joe Rogan on the latest edition of the Joe Rogan Experience MMA show, TJ Dillashaw explained that he’s had a very difficult time swallowing this controversial loss.

Speaking on ESPN’s Now or Never earlier this week, UFC President Dana White stated that the time for a rematch between UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones and heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier is ‘now.’ “Now,” White said bluntly of a rematch between the two arch rivals. “Yeah. I think that right now, Cormier probably has three fights left in his career, you know what I mean? And one of those guys is definitely going to be Jon Jones.”

Former ONE Championship and Bellator titleholder Ben Askren is currently scheduled to make his UFC debut against former UFC champ Robbie Lawler at UFC 235 on March 2. While this high-stakes welterweight scrap is just a month away, much of Askren’s focus seems to be on a fight with undefeated UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, who he hopes to meet in the inaugural title fight for the still hypothetical 165-pound division. Ben Askren once again called for this fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at Thursday nights’ UFC 235 press conference.

On Saturday night, the UFC will return to the streaming service ESPN+ with the exciting UFC Fortaleza card. This card will be headlined by a bantamweight number-one-contender fight between Marlon Moraes and Raphael Assuncao. The pair have fought before previously, with Assuncao earning a controversial split decision victory.

Jon Jones is once again the UFC light heavyweight champion, and as always, one of the most compelling matchups available for him is a rematch with his arch rival Daniel Cormier, who currently holds the UFC heavyweight title. While Jon Jones is currently booked for a UFC 235 title defense opposite the fearsome Anthony Smith, and Daniel Cormier is still unsure whether he’ll retire in March as originally planned, UFC President Dana White seems to be very interested in a rematch between the two stars — and soon.

UFC President Dana White and boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya have had plenty to say about each other over the last few weeks. In fact, their beef recently got so heated that the retired boxer De La Hoya even challenged White to a fight on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs undercard. “Let’s get in the ring,” Oscar De La Hoya said on the Luke Thomas show. “Let’s get in the ring, three rounds. Let’s do this. Let’s do this under Canelo [Alvarez], Cinco de Mayo. I’ll even give you five months so you can get off the juice, and then we can get in great shape and then we go three rounds. Look, I’m going to give you what, a 50 pound advantage? It’s ok. I can take you on. Let’s do it.”

First, the UFC boss gave a big thumbs up to a much discussed fight between Conor McGregor and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Brad Pickett is a mixed martial arts legend, no question about it. The 40-year-old has fought 39 times as a professional and 18 of those fights occurred under the WEC or UFC banner. Pickett announced his retirement from the sport following his loss to Marlon Vera in March 2017. Now, however, he is set to return on March 30 in London, England — but it will not be an MMA fight. Rather, Pickett will be making his bare knuckle boxing debut, and for a BKB title belt no less.

This weekend, on the main card of UFC Fortaleza, former UFC middleweight and welterweight title challenger Demian Maia will return to the cage for a scrap with Lyman Good. However this fight unfolds, retirement is looking like a more and more imminent possibility for the 41-year-old Brazilian grappler. That being said, he says he wants to fight out the final three obligations on his current UFC contract before he makes any big decisions on his retirement.

Over the last few weeks, there’s been significant buzz surrounding a potential fight between fan favorite lightweights Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone — the fighter themselves certainly seem to be into it. In a recent interview with  Eurobash, Conor McGregor striking coach Owen Roddy gave this potential matchup his seal of approval.
