As the countdown begins for ONE Championship’s historic event in Qatar, fans are in for a treat as a legendary name joins the stellar lineup.

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao

Former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama is set to make his return to action against Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE 166: Qatar. The spectacle broadcasts live on pay-per-view from Lusail Sports Arena on March 1.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest Muay Thai competitors of all time, Nong-O boasts an impressive track record.

The Thai icon initially garnered attention by racking up 10 straight victories in ONE. This included a remarkable eight consecutive World Title wins.

His dominance was punctuated by five consecutive knockout victories. This solidified his status as an unparalleled force in the division.

However, his reign came to a screeching halt when he relinquished his throne to Jonathan Haggerty in April 2023.

Nong-O then suffered another defeat at the hands of Nico Carrillo this past December.

Despite the recent setbacks, he remains steadfast in his pursuit of glory. And he still holds the #2 spot in the rankings.

Vladimir Kuzmin looks to seize the moment from Nong-O Hama

Nong-O Hama’s path to redemption won’t be an easy one. He faces a formidable foe in Vladimir Kuzmin.

He may only sport a 2-2 record in the world’s largest martial arts organization. But the Russian standout has proven himself as a relentless striker capable of pushing elite competitors to their limits.

Notably, he went through the wringer with both Jonathan Haggerty and Muangthai PK Saenchai. He lost only by a majority decision and a split decision, respectively.

For Kuzmin, the stakes are high. A victory over a name as illustrious as Nong-O could earn him the recognition he deserves.
