Michael Bisping Doesn’t Give a Sh*t That GSP is Training with Freddie Roach

By Justin Golightly - September 12, 2017

We’re still about a month away from UFC 217, but Michael Bisping is already heating things up with Georges St-Pierre. The dude followed him into an elevator with steroid accusations and it’s only going to get wilder from there. On the latest episode of his podcast, he talked about the match-up and what he thinks of St-Pierre boning up on his boxing with famed trainer Freddie Roach.

Michael Bisping Georges St-Pierre UFC 217

“I know [Georges St-Pierre] is a good wrestler, he’s a strong guy. He’s working with Freddie Roach which I couldn’t give a sh-t about to be honest. I’m really not concerned about what he’s gonna’ do or what [Roach] is gonna’ improve him on and I hope that he improves his boxing to where Georges wants to stand and have a boxing fight with me. I hope he does that.”

“The only way he wins this fight is by taking me down and holding me down or getting the submission because he ain’t winning on the feet and he knows that. I’m not bothered by what he’s doing to be honest, I fight the way I fight. Go lift, go do backflips, do whatever the f-ck you want. At the end of the day, I fight the way I fight and he’s gonna’ fight the way he fights and may the best man win.” — Michael Bisping on his Believe You Me podcast.

Will GSP really try and prove a point by standing and trading with Michael Bisping, or is it just a clever ruse to take the focus away from his wrestling bread and butter? It’s also going to be interesting seeing if St-Pierres infamous takedowns and top-pressure will still be as dominant in a larger weight class. We’ll have to wait until November 4th to find out when Bisping fights St-Pierre to defend middleweight title at Madison Square Garden.
