Russell Ess - August 21, 2017
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will be stepping into the boxing ring on Saturday, August 26, to fight under the Queensberry rules in what is expected to break the record as the richest fight in combat sports. Back in 2015, Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao set the bar high with over 4 million pay-per-view buys in a fight that many fans were left unimpressed by the action in the ring from the two boxing superstars. Both Mayweather and McGregor have said leading up to their mega-million dollar boxing match that they are going to bring the fight come August 26. Interestingly, Mayweather’s challenge to bend the standard rules and change the glove size from 10-oz gloves to 8-oz gloves are giving some fans more hope in the fight not ending with a judge’s decision.
First man to defeat Conor McGregor auctioning off shorts worn on fight night
Russell Ess - August 21, 2017
On June 28, 2008, Conor McGregor tasted defeat for the first time in his professional mixed martial arts career. It was just his third professional fight, which was at COT 3 in Dublin, Ireland where “The Notorious” met Artemij Sitenkov in the cage and was submitted with a kneebar in the very first first round. Fast forward to present-day and the two former opponents have walked down completely different paths in their mixed martial arts careers. McGregor, now holding a 21-3 professional MMA record is less than a week away from potentially setting a new record with Floyd Mayweather for the richest fight in combat sports and is expected to make over $100 million dollars if the record is achieved. Sitenkov, on the other hand, now with a 15-16 professional MMA record, is making headlines with auctioning the fight shorts he wore the night he beat McGregor on eBay where half of the proceeds will go towards a charity.

However, Mayweather has stated that although not the same man he once was, he still has was it takes to beat Conor McGregor in the boxing ring.
NAC director Bob Bennett updates on possible future boxing-MMA crossover fights
Tom Taylor - August 21, 2017
This Saturday, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will battle undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr., and it’s all anybody can talk about. The fight is expected to shatter all combat sports pay-per-view records, and go down as one of the most lucrative events in combat sports history. Given this, it’s hard not to wonder about similar future fights pitting MMA stars against boxers. On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, Nevada Athletic Commission director Bob Bennett discussed this possibility. Apparently, this Mayweather vs. McGregor crossover fight will remain a one-off for the moment, but future research into various aspects of the fight could change that.

Tom Taylor - August 21, 2017
This Saturday, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will step into the boxing ring to battle undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight is tracking to be one of the biggest in combat sports history, and one that could smash all previous pay-per-view records. Former Strikeforce champ and current Bellator star Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal, however, will not be buying. The light heavyweight and occasional heavyweight explained why on a recent episode of MMAJunkie Radio. In his opinion, it’s too much of a mismatch in Mayweather’s favor to even warrant consideration. He’ll simply watch the highlights later.

Artem Lobov: "Khabib is as big as he is in Russia because of Conor McGregor"
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
If Conor McGregor returns to MMA after his blockbuster boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr., one of the most interesting options for him would be a fight with undefeated Russian contender Khabib Nurmagomedov. In the opinion of McGregor’s training partner and friend, Russian-born Irishman Artem Lobov, there could be no better setting for this fight than the MMA-obsessed country of Russia.
One year ago today, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz put on an unforgettable show (highlights)
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
Today, UFC superstar Conor McGregor is gearing up for a foray into the boxing world, as we’re now less than a week away from his headline dominating showdown with Floyd Mayweather. On this day last year, McGregor had his hands full with a very different challenge: a rematch with the only man he’s lost to in the UFC, Nate Diaz. McGregor and Diaz’s rematch headlined UFC 202, which went down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unlike their first fight, which saw McGregor blow an early lead to succumb to a second-round rear-naked choke, this fight was as close as they come.
Coach John Kavanagh teases that Conor McGregor might submit Floyd Mayweather
Tom Taylor - August 20, 2017
On August 26 – now less than a week away – UFC lightweight champ and verifiable MMA superstar Conor McGregor will step into the boxing ring to battle undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Given that McGregor has never boxed professionally, he is being given little chance of success against the 49-0 defensive specialist Mayweather. Most pundits expect him to lose. The interesting thing is that McGregor would probably defeat Mayweather inside a minute if he were allowed to use his MMA arsenal – kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns, submissions, etc. Doing so, of course, would earn McGregor a massive lawsuit – perhaps as high as $90 million. Surprisingly, however, McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh recently teased that McGregor might rely on his grappling opposite the undefeated pugilist. Kavanagh made this surprising comment in a Saturday Instagram post, which showed McGregor locking up an armbar on friend and training partner Artem Lobov.

Sparring Partner Dashon Johnson Posts a Touching Message for Conor McGregor
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
Most of Conor McGregor’s camp for Floyd Mayweather has been surrounded by controversy. Between the infamous Paul Malignaggi footage, as well as other boxers coming out of the woodwork to insult McGregor, all Conor needed was multiple racist allegations from Mayweather. Meanwhile, the rest of the world endures a tense political climate and tragic events in Charlottesville, Virginia. A topic that Mayweather evaded when asked during his recent conference call with media. Through all of this, Dashon Johnson wanted to shed a little light through the dark clouds. The young MMA fighter and boxer has been sparring with McGregor his whole camp and had a lot to say as training begins to conclude.
Nate Diaz Defends McGregor Against Boxing's 'One-Dimensional' Clowns
Justin Golightly - August 19, 2017
As soon as Nate Diaz was announced to fight Conor McGregor back at UFC 196, we all knew it was going to be something special. It was the first time McGregor’s trash talk would bounce off of someone. There wouldn’t be any getting in Diaz’s head, he would only shrug, curse and go on a rant about the type of ninjutsu he was going to do. It would be the start of a rivalry between the Stockton soldier and that loud-mouthed Irish yakuza that would make the UFC a lot of money, as well as generate respect between both fighters. A respect that has seemed to last, considering Nate Diaz just recently had a whole lot to stay about boxers and their criticisms of McGregor to TMZ. “Now all the boxers are criticizing Conor like ‘Conor will get embarrassed’, but that’s a real arrogant thing to say. Wanna’ know something that’s even more embarrassing? If Floyd fought Conor in an MMA match, it would be more embarrassing than if Conor fought Floyd in a boxing match. [Floyd] would get mounted and laughed at, and slapped around [and Conor] would smile at the crowd and wave.”
Floyd Mayweather Sr. says he will file a lawsuit if Conor McGregor fights dirty
Russell Ess - August 18, 2017

Floyd Mayweather even commented during his media conference call on Thursday regarding the short clips of McGregor and Malignaggi sparring and said that he saw some illegal shots being thrown by the UFC lightweight champion. However, come fight night, Mayweather said that he will do his job and worry about fighting while he will let the referee in the ring do his job and ref the fight.

Chris Weidman Thinks We Still Have A lot More Mayweather vs. McGregor Coming
Justin Golightly - August 18, 2017
The former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is in a sort of limbo right now. He broke his losing streak by beating Kelvin Gastelum and you’d think he’d be on his way back towards that title, but his path isn’t that clear. He’s keeping his eye on a rematch with Luke Rockhold, but keeping a move to light heavyweight in his back pocket in case it’s a shorter line to the title. Meanwhile, on the outer fringes of the sport, Weidman thinks that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather’s paths are much clearer. Not only that, but Weidman believes we’ve not seen the last of them by a long shot. “Yeah, I mean I think I have [McGregor] winning now. I think he’s gonna win. That’s my last prediction. Third-round knockout. It’s just a gut feeling, just I’m feeling it. I think it’s gonna happen and then they’re going to have a second fight, Mayweather’s gonna win that and then next thing you know they got a Conor verses Floyd trilogy, and everybody’s spent 300 bucks, which means 500 million for each of them.” — Chris Weidman via Submission Radio.
