UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor is a rich, rich man. Though he was already a multimillionaire thanks to his efforts in the Octagon, his Saturday night boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr earned him a disclosed purse of $30 million – and he’s expected to clear $100 million once pay-per-view buys are factored in. Based on his comments at the event’s post-fight press conference, McGregor is keen to make sure he collects every penny he’s owed for his battle with Mayweather, which he lost via 10th-round TKO.

Conor McGregor did better against Floyd Mayweather than any of his haters expected. That includes his sparring partner turned nemesis Paulie Malignaggi, who broke the fight down in a post-fight discussion with MMAFighting. According to Malignaggi, McGregor was quite impressive in the first few rounds, but the ceaseless pressure applied by Mayweather –part of the undefeated great’s “mental pressure” – ultimately proved to be too much.

The Mayweather vs. McGregor bout was actually a very competitive contest in the early rounds, with “Mystic Mac” landing a variety of good shots on “Money”.

Last night, UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor stepped into the boxing ring with one of his most heated rivals, undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Unfortunately for McGregor and his legions of fans, this fight didn’t go as planned. Instead, the Irishman wilted under a torrent of 10th-round punches, losing by way of TKO as a result. As much as it was a disappointing night for McGregor, however, it was a momentous one for Mayweather. With this win, “Money” will now ride off into the sunset with a fantastic, 50-0 professional boxing record. Post-fight, Mayweather shared a brief encounter with McGregor’s biggest rival from the MMA sphere, Nate Diaz. Last night, UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor bravely wandered into the boxing ring for a battle with undefeated defensive mastermind Floyd Mayweather Jr. While McGregor had some legitimate success early on, he fatigued in the second half of the fight, at which point Mayweather cranked up the offense to author a 10th-round TKO win. Despite this loss, McGregor’s star appears to be higher than ever. The Irishman would seem to have options in both boxing and MMA, but in the opinion of his manager Audie Attar, MMA is the more likely outcome.

All the same, the Irishman’s valiant effort earned him the respect of many in the boxing community, and his future is looking brighter than ever. Last night, UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor bravely stepped into the boxing ring with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. While McGregor had some real success early on, he ultimately fatigued in the second half of the fight, at which point Mayweather turned up the heat to capture a 10th-round TKO win. Speaking to the media at the event’s post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White discussed his champion’s performance against Mayweather. Unsurprisingly, he was very impressed. “This isn’t what he does,” White said at the post-fight press conference for Mayweather vs. McGregor (h/t MMAJunkie.com). “He’s a mixed martial artist, where he goes in and uses all of his weapons, and tonight he was only allowed to use his hands.”

In the lead up to yesterday’s weigh ins, Floyd Mayweather and his team were adamant that “Mystic Mac” was struggling to make weight. The “Money Team” even predicted that the Irish superstar would fail in his attempt to make the 154-pound limit.

We’re so close now to the biggest fight of the century. Regardless of your opinion on the fight, the fighters, boxing, or MMA, Conor McGregor fighting Floyd Mayweather is gigantic and a ton of fun. Everything feels electric whether you’re in Vegas or not, but those actually in Sin City itself? It has be to absolute chaos. Irish and non-Irish McGregor fans alike have been notorious (pun intended) at every UFC event, now they are unleashed in record numbers. Swarms of hyped, screaming fight fanatics roaming the streets of the city that never sleeps. It looks like Dana White himself has gotten swept up in all the excitement from this fan-shot video. If you’ve seen his video blog, UFC’s Embedded series, or even just looked at his Twitter feed, you’d be hard-pressed to recall a time when Dana White was this excited. He’s a lifelong boxing fan and the UFC’s biggest superstar is just hours away from stepping into the ring with boxing’s greatest talent of our generation. Seeing him pink-faced screaming the, ahem, catchphrase that has gone viral during the event just shows how hyped he is to be involved in this. Props to him for giving fans the time of day as well.

If you’re not familiar with the gentleman, over a 13-year boxing career, Chris Eubank Sr. was undefeated for all but three of those years. He held the  WBO middleweight and super-middleweight titles, charming fans and opponents all along the way.
