Kimbo Slice, Ken Shamrock fail Bellator 149 drug tests

By bjpenndotcom - March 11, 2016

Back in February Bellator headed to Houston Texas for Bellator 149.

The event was an interesting one to say the least. In the co-main event Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 squared off in a highly anticipated grudge match, while in the main event Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie had their trilogy fight nearly 25 years after the pair first met in the Octagon.

Slice ultimately defeated Dada 5000 in a fight criticized by many. After the fight it was revealed that Dada 5000 had been hospitalized due to kidney failure.

In the main event Royce Gracie defeated Ken Shamrock via TKO, however the stoppage was controversial, with Shamrock complaining about being hit in the groin.

Now, MMAFighting has received word that both Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock have failed drug tests. As a result, they have been suspended while the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation sorts things out.

So far no further details have been given. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
