Tommy Fury blasts “son” Jake Paul about calculated rematch offer pre-Anthony Joshua booking

Tommy Fury fired off a retort on social media to Jake Paul after a not-so-thinly veiled dig at him was noticed. Anthony Joshua will officially step into the ring against Paul on December 19th after some scrambling to find an opponent for the influencer after the Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight, which was initially set to go down a few days ago, fell out.

Before the AJ booking became solidified, several people were seemingly reached out to, including the only man to beat Paul in the boxing ring, Tommy Fury. Although he didn’t mention the UK fighter by name, taking to his personal X page to fire off some shots, Paul stated,

“Respect due to all the fighters that said yes. We had to put all options on the table and make a decision. Guess who didn’t say yes even for $15M. Bi**h made you and your father are, who controls everything you do. You are not a man. You are a boy. Daddy’s little boy.”

Taking to his X account to respond to ‘The Problem Child’, Fury said,

“Offering me the fight in America… a place you know I can’t get to right now. Convenient [laughs]. Offer me the same $15M anywhere else in the world and I’ll be there in 8 weeks to shut you the f**k up and repeat what I did the first time. And ‘daddy’s little boy’? If anyone’s a son here it’s you… I gave you your first L. @jakepaul”

Tommy Fury and Jake Paul threw down in February 2023 in what was seen by some as a closely contested bout. Fury was able to secure the win over Paul by way of split decision, although the latter was able to record a knockdown of the former in the later stages of the bout.

Attempts to lock in a sequel clash between the two have not panned out in recent years, and as evidenced above, there are certain hurdles in place for attempting to book such a rematch.
