Claressa Shields aims to 'walk all over' Ivana Habazin en route to making history

Claressa Shields is excited for a few things heading into her Jan. 10 fight with Ivana Habazin: make boxing history, finally have a new “next fight” and help create an additional surge in women’s boxing. Shields, the undisputed middleweight champion, will face Habazin for the vacant WBC and WBO 154-pound titles at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. and will air on Showtime.

Shields has the opportunity to become a three-division world boxing champion and do so faster than any fighter in history when she faces Ivana Habazin on Jan. 10 for the vacant WBC and WBO 154-pound titles. The event will take place at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. and will air on Showtime.

There’s recently been renewed discussion about a potential MMA showdown between two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes and boxing champion Claressa Shields — thanks in large part to the comments of Dana White. “Claressa Shields is coming [to UFC 245],” White told BT Sport ahead of Nunes’ Saturday night bantamweight title fight with challenger Germaine de Randamie (via MMA Fighting). “She’ll be here Saturday to watch the fight. She’s coming to watch the fight, and I will be honest with you, Claressa Shields’ people and I have talked. I don’t know, we’ll see. We’ve talked.

Boxing champ Claressa Shields is ready to make her MMA debut, and is willing to do so against the best female mixed martial in the game today, two-division champ Amanda Nunes. The undisputed middleweight champion Shields has two gold medals and a multitude of world titles in two different weight classes. At just 24 years of age, Shields has a long list of athletic accomplishments. She has a scheduled boxing match against Ivana Habazin on October 5th in Michigan. If she wins, she could become a three-division champ in record time.

Boxing champ Claressa Shields eyes battle with Amanda Nunes

UFC President Dana White recently shared his interest in promoting a boxing match between Amanda Nunes, who holds the UFC featherweight and bantamweight titles, and middleweight boxing champ Claressa Shields. Shields, having heard these comments from White, is all for it. She believes she’d wallop Nunes, but is more than willing to give the Brazilian UFC champion the opportunity.
