Sean Strickland apologizes for comments about the Professional Fighters League but not Kayla Harrison: “I miss spoke about the PFL”

Sean Strickland is apologizing for comments he made about the Professional Fighters League (PFL), but not about Kayla Harrison. Harrison (13-0 MMA) squared off with Mokhnatkina (6-3 MMA) at PFL 3 in Arlington, Texas on May 6th. While the three round matchup went the distance, and Harrison earned a unanimous decision victory, it wasn’t her best showing.

Henry Cejudo has warned Aljamain Sterling that he will finish him inside three rounds during a recent face-off interview. Even though it’s been two years since he last fought, Henry Cejudo is still one of the most active figures in the UFC. The former two-weight world champion recently announced that he’d be coming out of retirement in order to re-enter the USADA testing pool, thus getting him ready for a return to the Octagon later this year.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk has sent a warning to Carla Esparza following the latter’s win over Rose Namajunas at UFC 274. Next month at UFC 275, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will run it back with Zhang Weili as they square off in a number one contender match-up at strawweight. The victor is expected to go on and challenge for the belt later this year, and after UFC 274, we now know that Carla Esparza is the champion they’d be facing.

Rafael dos Anjos has taken a shot at Islam Makhachev. After submitting Justin Gaethje at UFC274, Charles Oliveira said he wanted to fight the winner of Makhachev vs. Beneil Dariush for the vacant title. Yet, the Dagestani native thought he deserved the fight anyway and blasted ‘Do Bronx’ for being “scared to lose” which dos Anjos doesn’t think is true at all.

Chandler was on a two-fight losing streak and was set to face Tony Ferguson in a crucial fight for both men. It was an intriguing matchup and early on, ‘El Cucuy’ had more success than many thought. However, in the second round, Chandler landed a massive front kick that knocked Ferguson out cold.

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor has taken aim at Justin Gaethje for his comments prior to his loss to Charles Oliveira. ‘The Highlight’ and ‘Do Bronx’ squared off in the main event of UFC 274 last Saturday. Prior to the bout, Gaethje took aim at his foe, saying that he quit in previous fights. While he acknowledged that Oliveira has improved, he believed he would make him quit again.

UFC lightweights Joe Lauzon and Donald Cerrone will hopefully square off after all. The two bonus kings have been scheduled to clash on a UFC Fight Night next month. This is the second time that the two men have been booked. Lauzon and Cerrone were previously scheduled to square off at UFC 274 last Saturday. Hours before the fight, the bout was canceled due to Cowboy having food poisoning.

Brandon Royval wants to return at UFC 277 and serve as the backup fighter for the interim flyweight title fight between Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France. Royval is coming off a first-round submission at UFC 274 over Matt Schnell, which was his second in a row. Prior to the fight, Brandon said he wanted the bout to be wild and chaotic, but he admits it was crazier than he expected.

Maycee Barber always wanted to fight Jessica Eye and she now gets her wish. After Barber defeated Montana De La Rosa, ‘The Future’ was offered a fight with ‘Evil Eye’ at UFC 276. Jessica had just lost her slated opponent Casey O’Neill, who was forced to pull out of the contest due to a torn ACL. Once the fight with Eye became official, Barber got right back into training camp.
