While talks of a potential Conor McGreogor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight have continued to heat up, fight fans have continuously received conflicting reports regarding the status of the potential bout.
While it looked as though a fight wouldn’t happen, McGregor recently revealed during a media scrum at the Madison Square Garden that a deal was ‘very close’ leading many to believe that a fight would eventually happen.
“I’m the boxing guy, watch me take over boxing. Trust me on that. No one in this boxing game knows what’s coming, trust me on that, when I step in there I’m going to shock the whole god damn world. Trust me on that! Look me in the eyes, 28 years of age, confident as a motherfucker. Long, range-y, dangerous with every hand, trust me I’m going to stop Floyd. You’re all going to eat your words. The whole world is going to eat their words. I’m out of here…I am boxing!”
“Fuck Floyd, trust me, this whole boxing world don’t know what they’re going to see when I roll in here. I’m unpredictable, no one knows what they’re in for. Everybody is writing me off, everyone has this little…they’re gonna be in shock, make no mistake about it. I’m ready, I look forward to it, I’m excited, I’m prepared. We’re very close to inking it. I’m not gonna say no more, we’re very close to inking it, that’s it.”
That of course was followed up by an interview with Bob Arum, who revealed that the UFC was posing the biggest obstacle to the fight, demanding 50% of what McGregor makes for the historic scrap.
With that being said, check out a hilarious fan-made parody of the two trash talking as Rocky Balboa and Clubber Lang!
