Shem Rock blasts UFC Qatar foe: “No one wants to see that boring s**t”

Shem Rock recognizes his debut opponent in the UFC has a spotless MMA record, but does not have an ample amount of appreciation for his fighting style. The man known as Shaqueme Rock is making his long-awaited UFC debut this weekend at UFC Qatar when he battles Nurullo Aliev.

This bout goes down on November 22nd, and when asked for his thoughts on Aliev’s resume as well as general skill set heading into this fight, Rock said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“He’s intriguing on paper. He’s not intriguing to the eye, lad. He’s a f***ing boring, sniff your balls all night wrestler. He just wants to hold you down, lay and pray. He doesn’t force no action. He doesn’t try and get finishes. He’s not looking for no 50 grand bonuses. He’s just here to get another win on his record by holding you down.”

Further delving into his thoughts on the machinations of this matchup, Rock continued [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“That ain’t me, bro. Look at my record. I’m a finisher. I’m coming. No word of a lie. I’m coming from the first bell to take his chin off and that’s my goal. If he wants to be boring and play the lay and pray game and hold on, cool. Then I’ll submit him, lad. I don’t mind. I’m not scared to grapple. I’m an elite level grappler. If he thinks he’s going to come and just have an easy ride with me, he’s mistaken.”

“I don’t see him standing with me and I don’t see him controlling me and submitting me or ground and pounding me. No way. So, personally, I see a style like this and I think there’s not much to fear. The only thing he can really do is stall out a boring decision. But if that’s how he wants to live his career, lad. He’ll be another one of them come and gone from the UFC as soon as he takes his first loss, lad. No one wants to see that boring s**t. I’m here to put a show on for the fans and I’m looking for the finish like always.”
