UFC 210 Results: Cythnia Calvillo vs. Pearl Gonzalez

A bout between Cythnia Calvillo and Pearl Gonzalez took place on tonight’s UFC 210 main card in Buffalo, New York.

Round one begins and Calvillo is throwing punches in bunches early. Pearl responds with a hard right. Calvillo with a high kick but it’s blocked. She kicks to the body. Calvillo circles and then lands a nice combination. They tie up but break shortly after. They trade kicks. Gonzalez tries for a takedown, but Calvillo stays standing and attempts a guillotine choke. Gonzalez breaks free but Calvillo takes the fight to the floor. She gets a triangle choke with 10 seconds to go but it’s the horn sounds before she can secure the finish.

In round two Gonzalez was able to get the fight to the floor and even secure the full mount position. However, Calvillo would eventually scramble free and take the back of Pearl where she dominated the round while almost finishing the fight with a rear-naked choke.

Round three begins and it doesn’t take long for Cynthia to take the fight to the canvas. She quickly transitions to the back of Pearl and locks in a body triangle. She is searching for a rear-naked choke but Pearl is doing a good job of defending. She attempts the submission again and this time it is deep. Pearl is forced to tapout. What a performance.
