BREAKING | Tyron Woodley Believes Nate Diaz Will Be His Next Opponent
Justin Golightly - February 6, 2018
Out of nowhere before UFC 219, all of us thought that Nate Diaz was going to march scowl-faced into the Octagon once again to fight none other than Tyron Woodley. It never ended up happening, despite Woodley relentlessly putting Diaz on blast with what he saw as hypocritical statements. Now it looks like we can get our hopes all up again. Nate Diaz recently said he was interested in saving UFC 222, but Woodley actually has his eye a fight with the Stockton soldier later this year. “I think that fight [with Nate Diaz] will happen. I think it will happen this year. I think it’s way more likely than people realize. There are conversations about Nate and I fighting in July. The UFC has offered Nate that fight. They just have to make it worth his while. I think I’ll fight Nate this year, and I think it will be my return to the Octagon. If I had to bet the house on it, that’s my next opponent. In four weeks? No. I wouldn’t fight him. If we’re fighting, I’m pretty sure it would have to be for my belt.”

'Villian' Colby Covington Says Tyron Woodley Needs to Beat Him to Be 'Hero'
Justin Golightly - February 1, 2018
You and I are destined to do this forever. That’s what the Joker said to Batman in Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed film The Dark Knight. This seems to be the same message that Colby Covington wants to send to UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. He’s been calling him out and calling him out over and over to no avail after beating Demian Maia. Now, potentially being passed up by Rafael dos Anjos, Covington isn’t about to back down. If the UFC needs to sell tickets and rack up pay-per-view buys, Covington claims they have to put him in the fight. “I just don’t get why they want to do [Rafael dos Anjos]. It’s not a money fight. Tyron [Woodley] wants to be the hero, so if he wants to be the hero, he needs to come fight me. I’m the villain. I’m the bad guy of the division. I’m the most hated guy in the division. If you want fans to like you — fans hate Tyron right now, because he’s being fake. He’s being two-faced. He’s saying all this stuff and he doesn’t really mean it. He’s not being truthful. That’s why the fans are liking me right now because what I’m saying is real. […] I just don’t get why he doesn’t see that I’m the money fight. He’s not going to get [Nate] Diaz, he’s not going to get [Georges St-Pierre], Conor [McGregor] isn’t even in question.”
EXCLUSIVE | Stephen Thompson Doesn't Think Georges St-Pierre Fights Tyron Woodley
Justin Golightly - January 19, 2018
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is sidelined waiting for his shoulder to heal, but he’s made no question that he wants Georges St-Pierre when he comes back. After vacating the middleweight title due to health issues from gaining weight, it seemed like it was a fight that made sense for St-Pierre. Meanwhile, former title challenger Stephen Thompson is coming off a win over Jorge Masvidal and is gunning for another fight with Woodley himself. Friends with St-Pierre, Thompson recently sat down and gave us some insight on the potential welterweight title fight told us why he believes it doesn’t happen. “Do I see [Tyron Woodley] fighting Georges [St-Pierre]? Hell no. Well, that’s the thing. [St-Pierre]’s a very good friend of mine. I really, I don’t want that to happen. He understands that that’s my goal is to get that belt, you know what I mean? If that does come down to it, I would actually put that in his arena if he would like to [fight me] or not because he would be the champion if he beats Tyron. I would put that in his arena and say, ‘Hey,’ — make UFC go to him and say — ‘Hey, does this fight seem right?’ or whatever. Cause before I fought Tyron, we talked. [St-Pierre]’s like, ‘Man, I’m coming back. I have no interest in fighting you,” stuff like that as a friend.”
Dana White shares the "fight to make" for Tyron Woodley
Tom Taylor - January 16, 2018
At present, there are two frontrunners in the welterweight contendership race. One is former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, who recently trounced Robbie Lawler. The other is streaking wrestling specialist Colby “Chaos” Covington, who recently thwarted Demian Maia. Both men have a pretty solid case for the next crack at divisional champion Tyron Woodley, but in the opinion of UFC President Dana White, one makes more sense than the other. White cleared up the welterweight contendership picture on Fs1 in the wake of last Saturday’s UFC St. Louis card.
VIDEO | Tyron Woodley Predicts a Fight Against Georges St-Pierre in July
Justin Golightly - January 12, 2018
While Tyron Woodley recuperates from his shoulder surgery, welterweight contenders are pacing back and forth itching at their shot to try and take his gold away from him. Rafael dos Anjos feels like he has earned it with his dominant performance against former champ Robbie Lawler, but Woodley already told him he has other plans. Colby Covington has had Woodley’s name in his mouth since his win over Demian Maia, but T-Wood thinks he doesn’t deserve it. What the UFC welterweight champion wants is to prove he is the best of all time. Something he can only do against Georges St-Pierre. “I’d say that’s my big prediction for 2018. Big prediction for me is I fight Georges St-Pierre on my first fight back. Georges, my shoulder is sore. I can’t even punch. Georges, I can’t even punch. I can’t punch.Georges, it’s hard to sleep. Georges, if you want to fight me brother, this is the time. If you want to get me Georges, it’s right now. He’s a G. He would exit the sport and nobody would give him that much stuff for losing to me.”
Tyron Woodley explains why he "really wasn't impressed" by Rafael dos Anjos' defeat of Robbie Lawler
Tom Taylor - January 7, 2018
Last month, in the main event of UFC on Fox 26, former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos picked up one of the best wins of his already impressive career, defeating Robbie Lawler by unanimous decision. In the eyes of many fans, this win was enough to earn dos Anjos a fight with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Woodley himself, however, doesn’t share this opinion. “Was it a good performance?” Woodley recently told MMAFighting. “If I had Robbie Lawler against the Octagon like [dos Anjos did], would he have been alive or would he have been knocked the f*ck out? He’d have been knocked out.”
Tyron Woodley Tells Rafael dos Anjos He's Wasting His Time Campaigning for the Title Shot
Justin Golightly - January 3, 2018
Tyron Woodley is out recovering for his shoulder surgery, meanwhile the welterweights are all pacing back and forth to see who gets the next shot. Dana White went on record saying that the winner of Rafael dos Anjos and Robbie Lawler’s fight would get to fight Woodley for a title, after dos Anjos dominated the fight, it seemed like the next logical option. He still is campaigning for the shot while Tyron Woodley has other plans than the former lightweight champ and his boss: Georges St-Pierre, then dos Anjos. “I don’t see nobody ahead of me that deserve a next title shot, I’m former lightweight champion and I’ve been on the UFC for almost 10 years. 2017 was a great year and I’m looking forward for 2018.” — Rafael dos Anjos on Instagram.

Drake Riggs - December 21, 2017
Last week, UFC Welterweight champion of the world, Tyron Woodley announced that he was indeed going to go through with the shoulder surgery he briefly mentioned a few weeks prior. “I’m going to go ahead and get this shoulder repaired,” Woodley said. “I’ve been saying, ‘You know what, I don’t want to get it cut on, I don’t want to get it repaired.’ But if there’s no fight that really makes a ton of sense for me to take the risk, to not be 100 percent with my shoulder, then I’m going to go ahead and have it repaired. They’re not going to do a full orthopedic rehabilitation, but they’re going to do a scope and they’re going to anchor down some sides. Then I’m going to get some PRP (platelet-rich plasma), some stem cells. I’m doing everything.”

This only heated up his rampage promotional tour to make sure Woodley, and every other welterweight for that matter, knew he was the new man to beat at 170-pounds.
