By Tom Taylor - November 4, 2018

Sources have confirmed to BJPENN.COM that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is set to appear at an imminent RIZIN Fighting Federation press conference. The press conference will occur in Tokyo, Japan at 12:00pm Monday local time (10:00pm Sunday ET).

This English-friendly press conference will stream live on the promotion’s official YouTube channel, and is sure to include some pretty interesting news. In fact, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Mayweather will fight for the Japanese promotion.

Given that Floyd Mayweather has recently been linked to bouts with UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, and his long-time rival Manny Pacquiao, it would definitely be pretty surprising if he stepped into the RIZIN ring. That being said, the undefeated pugilist did recently tell TMZ that he hoped to fight in Tokyo in the near future, and that mixed martial artists and kickboxers were being considered as potential opponents. Though nothing is certain just yet, it appears that he might not have been exaggerating.

Floyd Mayweather is widely considered the best boxer of all time. The American last fought in August of 2017, when he improved to 50-0 with a 10th-round TKO of Conor McGregor in a massive crossover fight. Other highlights of his incredible record include victories over Manny Pacquiao, Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, Victor Ortiz, Juan Manuel Márquez, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti and many, many more.
