Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao 2 reportedly set for Sphere in Las Vegas

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set to run it back.

Mayweather is set to return to boxing for an exhibition match against Mike Tyson in April. After that, ‘Money’ said he would be returning to the professional ranks. And, according to boxing insider Mike Coppinger, Mayweather and Pacquiao are set to rematch this fall, with Sphere in Las Vegas.

“A Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao rematch is being planned for September, with The Sphere in Las Vegas being looked at as a possible venue, sources tell  MikeCoppinger. Both are slated to compete in exhibitions this Spring prior to meeting in the ring,” Inside the Ring Show posted on X.

Netflix then confirmed the fight will take place on Sept. 19 at Sphere, with the bout airing on Netflix.

“FLOYD MAYWEATHER vs. MANNY PACQUIAO Two of the greatest icons in boxing history will meet again in the first-ever professional boxing match at Sphere in Las Vegas. Saturday September 19 LIVE globally only on Netflix,” the post read on X.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fought back in May of 2015 in a highly anticipated fight. However, many fans feltit  was five-plus years too late. In the end, it was Mayweather who edged out a decision win in a rather lackluster fight.

As for Pacquiao, he’s set to return to boxing on April 18 when he takes on Ruslan Provodnikov in a 10-round welterweight exhibition bout at Las Vegas.

By the time Mayweather and Pacquiao rematch, the American will be 49-years-old while, while Pacquiao will be 47.

Floyd Mayweather set to return to pro boxing

Floyd Mayweather hasn’t boxed professionally since August of 2017, when he defeated Conor McGregor by decision.

Since then, Mayweather has done several exhibition bouts. But he felt like he had what it takes to return to the pro ranks.

“I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing,” Mayweather said in a statement. “From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards – no one will generate a bigger gate, have a larger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event – than my events.”

Floyd Mayweather is 50-0 as a pro boxer and is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time.
