Conor McGregor shares lopsided prediction for Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao boxing rematch

UFC superstar Conor McGregor believes the upcoming Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao mega rematch won’t be competitive.

Boxing fans were treated to a mega announcement earlier this week when it was announced that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will run it back in the ring later this year at the Las Vegas Sphere. Both legends will resume their professional boxing careers in a rematch of one of the sport’s iconic rivalries.

Mayweather will return to professional boxing for the first time since defeating former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor in 2017. He enters the Pacquiao rematch with a 50-0 professional boxing record.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is looking to resume the form that saw him go the distance with Mario Barrios last July at 46 years old.

While the second chapter of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao excites boxing fans, McGregor believes the bout won’t live up to the hype.

In a recent Instagram story post, McGregor shared his reaction to the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 announcement.

“Floyd beats him easy,” McGregor posted.

In a second comment, McGregor seemed to reignite interest in a future rematch with Mayweather in the ring.

“See ya soon bro,” McGregor said.

McGregor was close to signing off on a deal to fight Pacquiao in 2021, before ultimately deciding to return to the Octagon for a second fight with Dustin Poirier. He went on to lose to Poirier by TKO at UFC 257.

McGregor has repeatedly teased a potential return to the boxing ring for a rematch with Mayweather or for another high-profile bout. The former UFC champion is looking to return to the UFC Octagon later this year for his first MMA fight since 2021.
