Sean O’Malley had a run-in with Merab Dvalishvili backstage at UFC 299, but “Suga” didn’t even know it was the highly-ranked bantamweight he was speaking to. O’Malley turned in a stellar performance at UFC 299 against Marlon “Chito” Vera. It was O’Malley’s first UFC Bantamweight Championship defense, and it went as well as he could’ve hoped for. While “Chito” was one tough customer, O’Malley had success on the outside and his striking was on display for five rounds. He scored the unanimous decision victory.

Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall has given an emphatic response to Curtis Blaydes’ recent challenge. Blaydes was in action in the featured UFC 299 preliminary bout. He took on Jailton Almeida , and things went awry for the Brazilian in the second round. When Almeida went for a takedown, Blaydes rained down punches to knock his opponent out.

Dustin Poirier has weighed in on potential matchups with Nate Diaz and Justin Gaethje following UFC 299. Poirier handled business as an underdog for his Miami scrap with Benoit Saint-Denis this past Saturday night. “The Diamond” and BSD collided inside the Kaseya Center. It wasn’t easy for Poirier in the early going, as Saint-Denis bull rushed him and had his back on a couple of occasions. Poirier did what he does best, and that’s bite down on the mouthpiece and send his opponent to dreamland. Poirier knocked his opponent out in the second round with a flush right hand.

Benoit Saint-Denis has spoken out following his knockout loss against Dustin Poirier at UFC 299. Saint-Denis was aggressive from the start and was right in Poirier’s face. He even had “The Diamond’s” back a couple of times, but the veteran instincts of Poirier won out in the end. Poirier knocked Saint-Denis out with a right hand in the second stanza. Despite the loss, fight fans are intrigued by Saint-Denis’ future.

As fight fans already know, the blockbuster UFC 300 event is set to go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 13. The card is absolutely stacked from top to bottom, with another big bout seemingly being added last night.

Over the course of five rounds, Sean O’Malley systematically took Marlon Vera apart at UFC 299. He tore through ‘Chito’ in emphatic fashion, leaving him a bloody mess at the end of their collision. In doing so, he firmly cemented himself as one of the most entertaining fighters to watch in mixed martial arts.

O’Malley turned in a masterful performance in his first successful UFC Bantamweight Championship defense against Marlon “Chito” Vera. O’Malley was able to pick “Chito” apart from the outside. It was a brilliant showing despite Vera’s efforts to make it a dog fight. The “Sugar” show won the fight via unanimous decision. After the bout, he called for a champion vs. champion showdown against UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria in Spain.

Dana White shared his thoughts on Anthony Joshua’s knockout win over Francis Ngannou during tonight’s UFC 299 post-fight press conference. Ngannou (17-3 MMA, 0-2 Boxing) collided with the former WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Joshua (28-3 Boxing) in Friday night’s headliner in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Octagon returned to Miami for tonight’s UFC 299 event, a fourteen-bout fight card headlined by Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera 2. The highly anticipated men’s bantamweight title fight rematch resulted in an absolute masterclass from Sean O’Malley. While the fight ended up going the distance, O’Malley was able to put on a striking clinic, absolutely battering Marlon Vera for the majority of their twenty-five-minute affair. ‘Suga’ clearly had the speed advantage over ‘Chito’, which he utilized to control and smother the challenger. After five-rounds of hard-fought action, O’Malley was awarded a much-deserved unanimous decision victory.
