UFC president Dana White has praised Sean O’Malley after his sensational performance against Marlon Vera last night.

Over the course of five rounds, Sean O’Malley systematically took Marlon Vera apart at UFC 299. He tore through ‘Chito’ in emphatic fashion, leaving him a bloody mess at the end of their collision. In doing so, he firmly cemented himself as one of the most entertaining fighters to watch in mixed martial arts.

As you can imagine, the masses were pretty impressed by what O’Malley was able to produce – and that includes Dana White. During the post-fight press conference, Dana couldn’t help but praise the efforts of the former Contender Series star.

White praises O’Malley

“Biggest bantamweight fight of all time. Based off of energy, excitement, gate, and pay-per-view. It’s by far the biggest fight ever in the bantamweight division.”

Dana was then asked whether or not he believes O’Malley is heading for the same level of superstardom as Conor McGregor.

“He’s on his way. He’s the biggest star ever in bantamweight history. We can say that right now.”

White proceeded to show uncertainty over a potential showdown between ‘Suga’ and Ilia Topuria.

When it comes to the future, O’Malley has plenty of options on the table. Merab Dvalishvili is the obvious next contender but as mentioned, a superfight against Ilia Topuria could produce a monster buyrate for the company.

With someone like Sean, it’s clear to see that Dana White knows he’s struck gold. He’s an incredible personality, he has a really fun fight style, and he’s still pretty young.
