Pros react after Michael Page defeats Kevin Holland at UFC 299

Tonight’s UFC 299 main card featured a highly anticipated welterweight bout between Michael Page and Kevin Holland.

Page (22-2 MMA) was returning to MMA action for the first time since Bellator 292 in March of 2023, where he scored a first-round TKO victory (leg kick) over Goiti Yamauchi. That win was preceded by a split decision loss to Logan Storley which occurred in May of 2022.

Meanwhile, Kevin Holland (25-11 MMA) entered tonight’s contest looking to rebound after suffering a split decision loss to Jack Della Maddalena in his most recent effort last September. That setback had snapped a two-fight winning streak for ‘Trailblazer’, who had previously scored wins over Michael Chiesa and Santiago Ponzinibbio respectively.

Tonight’s ‘Page vs. Holland’ bout proved to be a coming out party for ‘MVP’. Michael Page was able to get the better of Kevin Holland in the standup throughout the fight and showed off some improved takedown defense on route to a hard-fought unanimous decision victory.

UFC allowing WWE type walk outs is a good thing for these fighters. Increase their marketability. I remember when we had to get our music approved and it was often denied if Dana didn’t think it fit us as fighters. Haha
