While there is a new weigh-in procedure in California that gives fighters the opportunity to weigh-in throughout the morning in order to have more time to rehydrate prior to their fights Saturday night, they still have staredowns at the official weigh-ins. During the heated staredown before their UFC 199 fight tonight., Cruz and Faber talked some trash, however Faber doesn’t remember what he said because he actually blacked out. One of the topics was about the frustration White has had in putting the rematch together for the Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor rematch, with the bulk of the frustration coming from the negotiations on Diaz’s terms for the fight when they had lunch in Stockton two weeks ago.

The UFC’s outfitting deal with Reebok now makes it so that fighters can only wear Reebok gear, or clothing without a noticeable logo, during media appearances, and fight-week. When fighters don’t follow the protocol, they are either fined, or they have to remove the article of clothing. When UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold showed up to the UFC 199 press conference yesterday wearing Adidas shoes, adjustments had to be made.
