After Bruce Buffer read the judge’s decision for the main event war between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, it didn’t take long for the featherweight champion, who won a majority decision over Diaz, to begin limping on his walk back to the dressing room. News surfaced shortly after that McGregor had broken his foot, and was using crutches to assist him backstage. Later in the evening, McGregor stated that his foot wasn’t broken, however his shin was hurt from the leg kicks he landed on Diaz.

This past weekend the MMA world tuned in as Conor McGregor looked to avenge his UFC 196 loss to Nate Diaz back in March. McGregor and Diaz went to war over the course of 5 rounds, winning over the hearts of MMA fans as they put on what some consider to be the greatest fight of all time. Ultimately, after 5 rounds of war, McGregor was awarded the majority decision win.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar made his return to the WWE ring this past weekend at the WWE’s ‘Summerslam’ Pay-Per View event where he wrestled Randy Orton. The match was the first for Lesnar following his UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt, after which it was revealed that he failed a random out-of-competition drug test prior to the fight, as well as a fight night drug test.

One fan went way over the top following the judge’s majority decision that had Conor McGregor as the winner over Nate Diaz at UFC 202 over the weekend. According to KZRG, 25-year-old Ulysses Liaina was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon in Missouri after firing gunshots at the Flying J Truck Stop on East 32nd Street.

Prior to Conor McGregor’s UFC 202 rematch with Nate Diaz, the featherweight champ stated that the pair would need a trilogy fight when he won the rematch. McGregor did just that, winning via majority decision this past Saturday in Las Vegas. During his post-fight Octagon interview, McGregor stated that he wants the trilogy fight to go down at lightweight, rather than welterweight.

UFC President Dana White dropped a bomb on Tuesday when he revealed that he was thinking about a potential UFC light heavyweight title eliminator fight between Anthony Johnson and Jon Jones. Jones was pulled from the main event fight against champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 in July for an Anti-Doping Policy violation, but has recently stated that he and his team have found out good news regarding the case.

It’s now been 9 months since former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey stepped into the Octagon. After being brutally knocked out by Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193, Rousey’s began her indefinite hiatus from the Octagon. While the initial plan was for Rousey to film several movies in Hollywood before returning to the Octagon in November, the former champ’s return has continuously been pushed back.

The string of anti-doping violations continued this week when the USADA announced that yet another fighter had been notified of a potential anti-doping violation. China Top Team’s Li Jingliang was notified that an out-of-competition sample collected on May 18th returned positive for a substance which has yet to be disclosed.
