Tonight, the UFC will hit Manchester, England for the UFC 204 Pay-Per View, which takes place from the Manchester Arena. The event is certainly a highly anticipated one, which will be headlined by a middleweight rematch seven years in the making. Several fights which have garnered interest from fans specifically include Danny Roberts vs. Mike Perry, which takes place on the UFC Fight Pass Prelims, Brad Pickett vs. Iuri Alcantara, which takes place on the Fox Sports 1 prelims, the co-main event scrap between Vitor Belfort vs. Gegard Mousasi, and of course the main event scrap between Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson.

While Dan Henderson holds an incredibly iconic win over Michael Bisping, when the pair step into the Octagon tonight, it’s Bisping who will be stepping into the Octagon as the betting favorite. In addition, Bisping will have the advantage of being the fan favorite given that the fight is taking place in Manchester, England.

It’s no secret that UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold have a very storied rivalry. The pair first met in the Octagon in 2014 in Sydney, Australia in the main event of ‘UFC Fight Night: 55’. While Bisping had stated before the fight that he got the better of Rockhold in training in the past, it was Rockhold who emerged from the fight victorious, earning himself a second round submission win.

Ahead of UFC 205, Conor McGregor’s stock is at an all-time high. After suffering the first loss of his UFC career back in March at the hands of Nate Diaz, McGregor was able to avenge the loss at UFC 202 as he picked up a majority decision win over the Stockton superstar. While there was some speculation as to what weight class McGregor’s next fight would be at, the featherweight champ remained noncommittal about returning to featherweight to fight Jose Aldo once again, despite Dana White stating that he would be stripped of the belt if he doesn’t defend it. Ultimately, McGregor signed to fight UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205, the UFC’s inaugural event at the Madison Square Garden on November 12th.

Rumors are now swirling that GSP’s big announcement could be a super-fight with former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson “The Spider” Silva, which would headline the UFC 206 pay-per-view event set for December 10 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Tomorrow night in Manchester, England, MMA veterans Vitor Belfort and Gegard Mousasi will step into the Octagon in the co-main event of UFC 204. Interestingly enough, while this is the first time the pair will step into the cage together, it isn’t the first time they have been booked to fight. Back in 2009, Affliction planned on hosting their third fight card, which was planned to play host to a scrap between Mousasi and Belfort, however the fight card was ultimately cancelled, and the promotion folded.

Ahead of the fight, the MMA community appears to be torn on their prediction for the scrap. While many believe that Bisping will once again get his hand raised in front of the English fans, others believe that history will repeat itself, and Henderson will once again emerge victorious over Bisping.

At the UFC 204 weigh-in Friday afternoon, Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson hit the scales ahead of their scheduled fight on Saturday night. While the staredown was certainly an intense one, with quite a bit of trash being talking by the middleweight champ, arguably the most intense moment of the event came when ‘The Count’ was addressing the crowd.

Many fans were disappointed to find out the news regarding UFC Fight Night 97 Manila’s cancellation earlier this week. Following news of our very own BJ Penn having to pull out of the scheduled main event versus Ricardo Lamas due to injury, the UFC announced that the entire card would be rescheduled. While many believed Penn’s injury was the main reason the UFC decided to reschedule the event, the reliable MMA insider @TalkMMA as well as FloSports Jeremy Botter stated that the UFC decided to reschedule the event due to strict drug testing policies being enforced by the Philippine government. Botter stated that not only fighters on the card would be tested, but also UFC affiliated staff such as the production team and employees would be tested. Both @TalkMMA and Botter stated that any failures in drug testing would result in their passports being seized. (h/t Bloody Elbow)

Early on Friday morning, the fighters scheduled to compete at UFC 204 took the scale to weigh in for battle. And while none of these fighters missed weight, one unfortunately didn’t make it to the scale at all. That fighter was talented English bantamweight Ian Entwistle. When news of Entwistle’s last-minute withdrawal first emerged, the only information available was that he’d taken ill. Whether this illness was related to his weight cut, however, was unknown.

Though Dillon Danis has been a huge name in the BJJ community for some time, he’s recently gained a good deal of notoriety in the MMA world too. That notoriety can be attributed to the role he played in Conor McGregor’s preparation for UFC 202, where the Irishman would look to avenge an early 2016 loss to Nate Diaz. After McGregor’s score-settling UFC 202 win over Diaz, Danis found himself in Diaz’s crosshairs.

Saturday night in Manchester, England, MMA veteran Gegard Mousasi will be stepping into the Octagon against Vitor Belfort for his 48th professional MMA fight. Mousasi, who will be entering the fight on a 2-fight win streak that most recently saw him pick up a spectacular KO win over Thiago Santos on the UFC Fight Pass prelims of UFC 200, believes that a win over the #5 ranked Belfort helps him climb the middleweight rankings, but won’t help him get the recognition he deserves.
