Alan Jouban Calls Out “The Immortal” for a December Scrap

By Tom Taylor - October 7, 2016

Over the course of his seven-fight stint with the UFC, Alan Jouban has established himself as one of the most consistently exciting welterweights on the roster.

Now that he’s recovered from an action-packed July brawl with Belal Muhammad, the ever-entertaining scrapper is ready to get back in there.

According to a Friday afternoon Tweet, Jouban is looking for a fight sometime in December, and if he has his way, that fight will be with Matt “The Immortal” Brown.

“I’m looking for a fight in December with a ranked fighter,” Jouban’s Tweet says. [Matt Brown] you got plans?!”

Given that Brown stands alongside Jouban as one of the UFC’s most consistently entertaining fighters, this prospective showdown is bound to interest any fight fan with a pulse. If it’s booked, it’ll be a strong contender for the Fight of the Night honors of whichever card it’s part of.

When we last saw Brown, he was knocked out by Jake Ellenberger. This loss, which marked the first strike-induced defeat of his career, moved him to an unfortunate 1-4 in his last 5. Despite this rough patch, however, The Immortal remains one of the most dangerous – and durable –fighters in the welterweight division. And as a long-time member of the division’s top-10, he’d undoubtedly represent the toughest test of Jouban’s career thus far.

Jouban, who moonlights as a model, is currently on a two-fight streak, having rebounded from a TKO loss to Russia’s Albert Tumenov with defeats of Brendan O’Reilly and Muhammad.
