UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has undoubtably become one of the biggest figures in the MMA world, if not the single biggest. McGregor brash persona parallels the likes of Boxing legend Muhammad Ali, who used to frequently talk trash to his opponents in an extremely elaborate way, while promoting himself with over-the-top speeches. Before McGregor burst onto the UFC scene in 2013 when he fought Marcus Brimage, UFC fans had their eyes and ears tuned in to former middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen, who is known as one of the greatest trash talkers in the history of MMA.

Recently, it was revealed that former NFL standout Greg Hardy was looking to make the transition to MMA. While there was no word given on when Hardy planned to make his MMA debut, or which promotion he would be doing so with, all signs pointed to the former Pro Bowl player making the jump to MMA. That didn’t sit well with Fox Sports analyst Jay Glazer, who owns and runs the Unbreakable Performance Center in California, who spoke on The Rich Eisen Show, where he pleaded with MMA gyms to refuse to train Hardy over his previous domestic violence case.

Last Saturday, in the main event of UFC 204, a 46-year-old Dan Henderson fought the final fight of his MMA career. He did so against an old nemesis in Michael Bisping, with the UFC middleweight crown on the line. Despite a spirited effort, Henderson would come up short on the scorecards, failing to win the belt as he did in his two previous UFC title shots. Though he was never able to win gold in the UFC, Henderson accomplished some incredible feats over the course of his 47-fight career, winning titles in other major promotions, engaging in unforgettable wars, and dishing out some of the most iconic knockouts in MMA history.

Before the main event for UFC 205 was announced, there was much speculation as to whether UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would get the lightweight title fight against Eddie Alvarez, or whether undefeated Dagestani fighter, and #1 ranked lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov would get the fight against Alvarez. While initial reports were that McGregor and Alvarez would be the main event fighters for the historic event on November 12th, UFC President Dana White shot those rumors down, stating that McGregor’s leg wasn’t healed from his UFC 202 scrap with Nate Diaz. White also revealed that it was Nurmagomedov who was going to be getting the lightweight title shot against Alvarez.

Back in July, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate stepped into the Octagon in the main event of UFC 200 against Amanda Nunes in what many consider to be the UFC’s biggest Pay-Per View ever. While Tate was entering the bout on a 5-fight win streak that has seen her go unbeaten for three years, Nunes was entering the bout on a 3-fight win streak, and was as hungry as can be for the women’s bantamweight title. In just the first round, Nunes rocked Tate with a big right hand shot, ultimately submitting the champ with a rear naked choke just three minutes & 16 seconds into the fight to claim the women’s bantamweight title.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom Dillon Danis has grown extremely close to UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. The Marcelo Garcia black belt who was brought in for the UFC 202 training camp to prepare for Nate Diaz is still a part of McGregor’s UFC 205 camp and now considers McGregor his Irish brother. “I’m here for him”, Danis said in a report from The Mac Life. “We help each other. I wouldn’t say I’m just helping him because he also helps me a lot. My mind – everything. We’re a good tag-team, I think. He’s my brother from Ireland. I have my brothers back home in New York and now I have my brothers here too.”

Big news was buzzing on Monday when a report surfaced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor was allegedly knocked out cold during training with a possible broken nose. As timing had it, McGregor was also given his sanctions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday where he was handed a hefty $150,000 fine as well as community service for the water bottle war against Nate Diaz and his team at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference.

This past weekend in Manchester, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping stepped into the Octagon to make his first successful title defense against MMA legend Dan Henderson in the main event of UFC 204. Bisping survived an early onslaught from Henderson en route to defending his belt for the first time. In both the first and second rounds, Bisping was dropped with Henderson’s signature ‘H-Bomb’. However throughout the remainder of the fight, he continued to outwork Henderson, and outstrike the MMA legend, landing a significant volume of strikes.
